"Blade! Blade, wake up!" Someone shakes me awake. On instinct, I grab my knife from under my pillow and sit up, prepared to fight. Monty stands beside my bed, arms raised in defence. I let out a huff of recognition, and fall back on to my stomach, pulling the blanket over my head. Monty gives me another shake.

"Fuck off, Monty," I mumble. I'm not a morning person. Never was, never will be.

He pulls off my blanket, exposing my body to the cold air. "Monty, I will cut you." He takes a large step back, taking my threat seriously.

"Come on, Blade. It's almost noon. And I want to show you something." Monty argues. Memories from last night hit me like a train.

How could I be so stupid and let him in? He's my enemy, I suppose you could say? Bellamy is the only person to have seen me cry, even if it was only a few tears. I let out a groan.

"Fine, give me two minutes." Maybe Monty's surprise will keep my mind off everything. I hear Monty shout a victory 'yes!' I throw my hair in its usual high ponytail so it doesn't look as greasy, and shove on my jacket and boots. As soon as I step out of the tent, his hand grabs mine and he leads me to a tunnel at the back of the dropship.

"Where are we going?" I whine. "And if you say it's a surprise, I'll leave,"

"Okay, it's a bolt from the blue." Monty laughs. I stop and give him a look.

"Smart ass," I mutter. After at least fifteen minutes of walking - more like tripping and ducking over branches - Monty tells me to close my eyes. After a moment of hesitation, I do. I can trust Monty. I haven't trusted anyone in — hell — three years. He grabs both my hands and leads me a dozen or so more feet before I can open my eyes.

"Oh my god! This is amazing!" A small pond sits in front of us. Pink and purple flowers intertwine between the rocks that surround it. The water is a clear blue-green color. It's simply breathtaking.

"No man-eating snakes?"

"No man-eating anything," he assures. The pond isn't that big, maybe eight feet in diameter, and at most, five feet deep. I rip off my pants, shoes, and jacket. Monty follows my actions, stripping down to his boxers. I hesitantly take of my tank top.

No, I think, I can trust him.

Monty's eyes widen as he looks over at me, letting his gaze linger at my breasts. A small blush creeps up my neck.

"Hey! Eyes up here, buster," I snap. He shakes his head and meets my eyes.

"You have a tattoo? How?" he asks, startled. My hand goes up, and traces the ink on my left ribcage. It's a simple quote, in cursive writing. 'Some Days I Wish I Could Forget.'

"I knew some people." It was a painful process, but worth it. "Come on."

I slide into the water, slightly shocked at the coldness. It's much colder than the time with Octavia. But, then again, I'd take the cold over a man-eating snake any day. Monty slips in right after I do.

"Holy shit, that's cold!" he squeals. He crosses his arms over his chest in hopes to keep warm. I wade up to him, and swiftly dunk him under the water. His head pops back up within a second. "Oh, you're going to get it now." I jump and try to run through the water to escape the threat. Unfortunately, he grabs my hips and dunks me under.

The water freezes my neck and face. "Holy fucking shit!" I shout as soon as I reach the surface. I push my bangs out of my face. Even without soap or shampoo, I feel cleaner. I waddle over to Monty again, but he takes a step back, not wanting to go under again.
