[18] Naruto's Secret Mission!

Previously:

Ito knocked on the door to his apartment, it unlocked and revealed Karin.

" I'm back." Ito said, holding a bag of groceries in his hand.

" Y-You made it." Karin spoke.

" Yeah." Ito proudly replied. He noticed Karin cover her nose.

" Oh." Ito muttered, blushing a little from embarrassment. He apologized profusely and set the grocery bag down before heading to shower to get rid of the stench.

" Who are you up against?" Karin asked, getting comfortable talking to the Uchiha.

" Sasuke Uchiha, he's a teammate of mine." Ito replied, drinking a cup of water.

" Is he your brother?" She asked.

" No, we're from the same clan though. Most likely distant cousins.. I'm not sure." Ito said, wondering who his parents were.

He only had a few foggy memories of his biological mother when he was a toddler and none of his father. Generally, his family background is unknown. The only information he knows is that he is an Uchiha.

' I wonder if Madara is my father.. but then again he was dead around this time period so no.' Ito thought.

" Oh, I see." Karin stared at her plate and continued to eat.

The two made curry rice. Karin chopped the vegetables, Ito prepared the rice and beef. The two made the sauce together to make sure it wouldn't be too spicy for the other.

There the two sat and ate in comfortable silence hearing only the birds outside, though it was short-lived as someone knocked at the front door.

' Shit.'

Ito got up, wondering who was at the door. He would've guessed Naruto but the boy would often pound at the door instead and sometimes yell.

He looked through the peephole and saw a random old lady.

' Eh?' He decided to open the door, and it was just a woman who mistaken this apartment complex with another.

" Who was it?" She asked, a bit worried.

" It was an old lady who mistakened an address." Ito shrugged.

After dinner, Ito let her have his bed so she wouldn't be uncomfortable and rested on the floor that night despite Karin's protests. He didn't sleep on the couch due to slight paranoia of leaving her alone.

He rested on the floor with a blanket, staring at the ceiling left at his own thoughts.

' It's good that this apartment was free but we're obviously going to need more space..' He thought, later thinking about moving into the home of his late caretaker.

However for him, it was too depressing to live there, knowing that the Uchiha clan was massacred on that land. For all he knows, the Uchiha compound might be haunted. Even Sasuke lived outside the compound. He pushed those thoughts aside and slept for the night.

Karin turned on the other side to look down on the floor where Ito slept. She saw that he already fell asleep judging by his slow breathing. The Uzumaki felt guilt seeing him sleep on the hard wooden floor but decided not to wake him up to avoid troubling him.

I shifted to a more comfortable position, though I hit my foot on the wooden bedframe which caused me to fully wake up.
