ASTRID'S POV:

I woke up, to see that Nate wasn't in bed anymore.

"Nate?", I say looking around the room.

He walks out of the bathroom brushing his teeth. "You know we have school today right?"

"SHIT! NO I DIDNT!", I got up and ran to my room. Throwing on some biker shorts and a purple Nike t-shirt. I slipped on my 270s and put my hair in a braid.

"You ready?", nate asks knocking on my door as I gurgle mouthwash.

"Mhm!!", I say grabbing my bag.

I walk downstairs and get with Nate in his jeep.

"Oh by the way, I won't be home after school.", he says abruptly out of nowhere on our way to school

"You won't? Where are you going?"

"Just to a friend's house to study."

A friend's house? I've heard that excuse too many times.

"oh...cool.", I say reaching for my phone.

Where's my phone?!?

"Where the fuck is my phone???", I say looking around me and in my bag.

"beats me.", nate says getting out of the car.

I glared at him as he walked away. Whatever.

(In 6th hour)

"He is soooo hot.", I hear lexi say as I walked in the classroom.

"Who's hot?", I say.

"N-", Macie goes to say.

"Nobody! Its really nobody", lexi says laughing nervously.

"Ooookay?", I say taking my seat.

I look over at Nate who's talking to Roxy.

Why do I care? I'm not jealous am I?

"AHEM", says Mr. Jones walking in the classroom.

We all snap our heads to look at him.

"Today, im assigning you new lab partners.", he says.

"What!??", says Nate.

"Dude you can't move me away from my bud-"

"MR. HOLMAN.", Mr Jones interrupts. "I will move you to wherever I please. Besides take this as on opportunity to make new friends."

Marcus just sighs, while as nate rolls his eyes.

He read off the new partner list.

Macie and Kevin.

Marcus and Jules.

Lexi and Nate

Astrid and Zack.

Fuck. I just got assigned the worst partner.

I turn to look at jules, "there's no fucking way.", I mouth quietly.

I catch nate looking at me out of the corner of my eyes.

Jules mouths shes sorry for me.

I chuckle a bit.

"Something you wanna share?", Mr. Jones says slamming his hand on my desk.

"No sir.", I say behind a laugh.

After a while the bell rang. I wanted to get out of that class, I did NOT want to talk to Zack.

Of course luck was never on my side.

"Astrid! Wait up!", I her him say behind me.

Here we go."What do you want zack?"

"I need to talk to you.", he says.

"I dont want to talk to you though.", I say.

"Please?", he begs.

I sigh,"fine. my house at 5."

He smiles and leaves.

I sigh, and turn around to go find Nate.

Although he was already standing behind me.

"AAH! NATE!", I say startled.

"What!? What was....what was that all about?"

"Were you spying on me??"

"No, I was coming to find you so we could get home.", he says.

"Whatever let's just go."

"No astrid. What did he want???", nate says grabbing my hand.

"None of your business nate, come on!"

"whatever.", he storms in front of me and out of the door.

The car ride home we were completely silent.

Why does he care so much about where I go? He doesn't tell me where he's going.

As soon as we got home I ran upstairs and to my room. I slammed the door, I decided to text Zack. "Come over now."

Within 10 minutes the doorbell rang. "I got it!!", I say running downstairs.

I opened it not to see Zack. But to see....Lexi?

"Lexi? What are you doing here?"

"Nate invited me over to study.",she says looking behind me.

To study? I thought nate was going somewhere to study?

"Nate told me he was going to come over at first. But then he told me too...so here I am.", she says.

"Lexi! Your here!", nate says.

I turn around to look at nate at the top of the steps.

"I sure am, let's go.", she hits my shoulder slightly as she passes me.

I glare at her. I have to admit it. I'm jealous.

I decide to go up to my room.

I sit at my desk. Lexi is starting to act weird. So is nate

Then as if my brain was a puzzle, everything clicked.

The guy she called in hot today in class was Nate. Thats why she was so secretive about it and interrupted Macie. Nate was going to go over to HER house. Nate invited her over here but why.

Then a knock on my bedroom door.

"Go away."

"Its me, zack?"

Oh shoot. "Oh come in."

He walks in. I can't lie I've kind of missed his face.

"Hey zack..."

"Whats with the face?", he asks sitting by me.

"Its nate...",I say.

"I figured, since he's in the kitchen latching his lips onto Lexi's.", he says.

HE'S WHAT??!?!?
