31 hours, 8 minutes, and just about too many pitstops to count, we finally arrive in Utah. We stopped for bathroom breaks, stretch breaks, food breaks, and gas breaks on our way here. Pretty much any kind of break you can think of.
My grandma is currently driving while I am just enjoying the scenery. I didn't have to drive as much as my grandma, only on the straightaways because I didn't know where I was going.
The road is kind of bumpy so it's not really a peaceful ride. There are trees on either side of us as far as I can see. It looks kind of scary at the edge of woods but when you look farther into them you can see it opens up a bit.
"How much farther until we get to our house?" I ask my grandma, picking my head up off the window and looking at her.
"About 10 more minutes."
I groan, "I hate road trips."
She laughs, "You should love them by now."
I narrow my eyes but I know she doesn't see me because she's driving. "Well I don't." She laughs again and I scowl. "So what school am I going to again?"
"West Gate High School."
I look it up on my phone and see that their mascot is a wolf. I scroll through some other stuff on their page and stop at the menu.
I groan, "I hate school food."
Grandma laughs, "You'll get used to it." She said and I shook my head. No I won't. I never do, I never have time. "And I know what your thinking and yes, you will get used to it and you will make friends. Just please try to make friends this time. I did some research on this town, it's a quiet and small town, I think we're going to like it here, we might even stay longer."
I scoff, looking out the window again, "Yes, keyword being might, we never stay anywhere long and I can never make friends."
"Malia, please just try. I know it's hard. But I'll make a promise, if both you and me like this town we will stay until a situation arises and we have to move again, but in return you have to try and make friends. Who knows, you might even get yourself a boyfriend!" She said adding in a wink at the end. "So, do we have a deal?" She asks me hopefully.
I squeal, "Yes, of course. I love you grandma, thank you so much!
She laughs, "I love you too, just remember--"
She abruptly stops talking and starts staring straight ahead at something. I follow her gaze and eventually my eyes land on something really big and very black. My eyes widen as I realize what is.
"Is that a bear?" I ask, afraid.
My grandmas eyes snap to mine and she looks panicked. This only makes me more afraid. She must've realized this because she immediately tried to look calmer but was failing miserably.
She shook her head, swallowing, "No, it's a wolf."
Wolf? Are there even wolves in Utah?
I decided to voice my thoughts, "There are no wolves in Utah, though. And plus, that thing is huge."
She looked at me. I hadn't realized we'd stopped the car until now. I look back at the wolf at saw that it was already headed off into the woods.
"Yes, there are wolves in Utah, Malia."
She sounds so strange. She starts up the car and begins driving again. I look over at her to see she looks really spaced out so I decide to ask her if she wants me to drive she agreed. I got the address and drove to our new house.

After about 15 minutes a few wrong turns and running a stop sign we make it to our new house.
