Today was Genji's first day at Midtown High; he and Ava had all the same classes together, all advanced AP classes.
"Wait, why are you in all AP classes with Ava?" Sam asked, shocked.
"Our friend is much more than he seems," Danny said smiling.
"You got that right. In Calculus, the teacher asked him to solve the equation on the board, and he did it like it was nothing." Ava said, impressed, as Genji smiled and shrugged as he and the rest headed to lunch.
After lunch, Genji stopped by his locker to drop books off when the bell rang, making him hang his head as he hoped to get to class on time. As he turned to leave, he found the new Principle Coulson standing there with his hands behind his back and a stern look.
"You're late, Mr. Shimada. Detention." Coulson barked before walking away as Genji headed to his next class.
Once school was over, Genji went to the detention room where he found Danny, Ava, Luke, Sam, and Peter waiting. Taking a seat next to Ava, he watched as Peter began freaking out about having detention for apparently the first time.
"Principal Coulson. I've never had detention before in my life. My Aunt is going to kill me." Peter exclaimed, slamming his head on the desk. "Then she's going to bring me back as a zombie and kill me again," Peter said, raising his head, only to slam it into the table.
"Good job with the role play, you guys. That was perfect." Coulson said, standing at the front of the room.
"Oh. This was just to get us all together for a secret SHIELD thing? I thought it was serious." Peter said, relieved as he looked around the room to see the team gathered together.
"Define "serious," Coulson said as he pressed a button on his desk. The chairs they were sitting on folded down, dropping everyone into a trapdoor as everyone shouted surprise, except Genji, who, as usual, stayed silent.
They then dropped down into seats in their hero suits as the seats then rocketed through a tunnel before coming to an abrupt stop flinging them out and into a new room.
Luke, Danny, Sam, and Peter all landed into one big dogpile while Snake and Tiger landed perfectly, with Tiger doing a little pose.
"Tada," Ava said, standing like a gymnast with her arms out.
"Move your webs," Nova complained as Spider-man was rubbing his back on Nova's helmet, keeping him down on the ground.
"I've had this knot in my back, and those dumb pointy things are on your helmet are just the right shape," Spider-man said as Tiger rolled her eyes.
"Boys am I right?" she said, looking to Snake, who just shrugged. "I'm right," she said as she and Snake walked over to a window that looked out underwater. "Where are we?" she asked as Snake wondered the same thing.
"Attention all SHIELD personnel. Prepare to surface." Fury said over the speaker as they started to rise in the air showing the Helicarrier coming out of the river and flying up into the air.
"The Helicarrier. I love this job." Tiger said as she enjoyed the view before her's and Snake's attention was brought to Nova and Spider-man arguing.
"I don't know what your problem is, webs, but if you want to throw down, let's get it over with," Nova said as he charged up his energy into each hand.
"In a feisty mood? Outstanding. The Court is precisely where you'll train to focus that aggression." Fury said, appearing on the holo screen.
"Court" like b-ball court?" Spider-man asked.
"Court" like you come here to be judged. Harshly." Fury said as the window was suddenly closed by a giant metal shield, and all over the room, robots and turrets with blaster guns came out of the floor, all aimed at them.
