"Curiosity killed the cat,"—
Pin crawled through the vents. It was difficult for her to move her limbs, and the only way she could go was forward. She's been in the vents for a while now. Although it's surprisingly easy to breathe when within, it was pitch black in there; only a few patches of light came from the vent lids far away.
Every time she dragged her limbs forward it was an ache. Her arms would scrape against the metal walls, which had bolted nails with dull yet irritating edges.
Yet she continued moving forward. It was already too late to head back now, especially when she has no way of turning around while inside the vents.
But that wasn't what urged her to continue.
Pin's thoughts were flooded by her curiosity. She wanted answers, and not just vague ones that were meant to make her go away and never ask about it again.
Why did Fanny vanish into the vents?
How come the doctors aren't aware of this blind spot in her room?
And what even are the subject categories that the doctors want to keep secret so bad?
These questions grew and filled Pin's mind.
Oh how much she wanted to know.
She knew none of this information would benefit her in any way; if anything, it would only put her in great danger. However, she didn't seem bothered by that fact. It only drove her curiosity even more!
...but was all of this really worth it? She would ask herself this question many times as she continued to drag her arms against the ice cold walls.
Of course it was.
However, before she could continue her thoughts, a bright light in the distance caught her eye.
It was an opening. There was no screwed on lid to block the exit.
She began crawling faster.
...but as she grew closer to it, she heard voices. Her pace slowed as she tried to recognize who they belonged to. One was of a familiar claw equipped machine that simply tossed her to the side. While the other...It was new..
No one in the main room sounded like that...
It was such a strange and strong accent.
Pin could hear them laughing but couldn't understand anything that they were saying. She wasn't sure if it was still because of the brain damage she sustained previously, or if it was because she was too far away.
Either way she tried to comprehend what they spoke about as she drew closer to the bright exit.
"Honestly I think it's unfair how you have to stay locked up in this room all day."
