It has been a day since their meaningful conversation on the rooftop after the events that happened at the amusement park

Vanitas was the first one to wake up in the morning of course he was

But surprisingly it didn't take long for Noé to wake up as well

"Oh that's surprising Good morning Noé...you are up rather early today" Vanitas teases

"Good Morning but ummm excuse me who are you?" Noé asks

"Huh Who I am? I see clearly not really awake yet. I'm Vanitas nice to meet you"

"Nice to meet you too I guess" Noé says deadass serious

"Stop it Noé that's not quite funny anymore especially after what happened yesterday. Don't give me a glimpse of hope and then still leave me in the dirt but the more playful way!" Vanitas hisses

"Ummm I sincerely don't know you...what happened yesterday?"

Vanitas heart started aching at that

"Most likely that was our most meaningful conversation...and you still forgot it...seems like I'm not as important to you as I thought" Vanitas says voice wobbly

"I'm sorry I guess but I don't really know you so whatever happened yesterday let's move on" Noé says

"Noé stop playing me like this it's not funny! It's so not funny! You said things like u would never set me "free" you are here now even though I screwed up terribly you accepted my apology...extended your hand towards me after all this mess u helped me back up on my feet...how...just how could u forget all of this...If you are teasing me or if this is some sort of revenge then stop it right now because even for someone like me it does hurt when your partner forgets about your entire existence...especially after what we have been through" Vanitas almost screams

"Well Vanitas was it right? I'm not teasing you I actually don't know what you are talking about I don't know ok I would never play such a cruel joke! I sincerely don't know you or judging by what u say I don't know you anymore" Noé says turning around

"Noé- Please...don't...why you of all people? Why is it always that people closest to me...why it's not fair...I don't think that I can go through this all alone...Mikhail will come back at some point or probably we...I should go chase after him to stop him but I can't do that alone...I-...I.."

Vanitas sinks down to his knees knowing that there won't be hand to help him back up this time or so he thought

"Hey Vanitas calm down ok...just because I can't remember you it doesn't mean that I will run away and leave you alone"

Vanitas looks up at him with a shocked face and glassy eyes when Noé took his hand to help him stand up

"You...are staying?" Vanitas asks

"Yes I won't leave you...you said I said to you that I will never set you "free" didn't I? I really shouldn't break that promise just one day after I made it, that doesn't sit right with me" Noé says

"Ummm Noé...do you think you will remember me one day?"

"I don't know but I hope so we were good partners weren't we? Also it's anyways quite strange I can't remember you when I'm an Archiviste"

"Right that's right! How can you not remember me when you even drank my brothers blood u should have seen me in his memories...you should know most of my lifestory by now...you know no you knew about Moreau and what happened with Mikhail when I was younger...you should know all of that...well it's probably better for me that you don't remember that but if that means you will just not remember me at all then I don't know if I even want that" Vanitas says his hands shaking
