I walk into my room and start to grab my breeches and a shirt." They said we only take what we need and no more, the guild will provide the rest as they see fit." I said to the others. Vander and Aaron look at me confused, with a hint of skepticism on their faces. "Alright." They say, nodding in confirmation. "Hey I'm just relaying what they told me." I say. "Yeah we know, just confused as to why they lay such rules or demands because they already know how little stuff we have." Aaron says with that skeptical look still drawn on his face. I finish packing my cloths and grab my boots to put them on. We meet up with the girls in the hall, Angelica still looking teary eyed and sad. As we all walk out of the castle the three guild that we had chose were waiting for us at the gates. "Well I guess this is we're we part for now sadly. Promise to meet up sometime outside of our guilds?" I say hoping to at least cheer some of them up. "Yes definitely a must." They chuckle. I watch Angelica get in a carriage and drive away but then look around only to see the commander of the Brigade and the Commander of the Rangers standing there. The commander of the Rangers looks at me and Maeve, "alright you are to follow me to camp, you are to keep up and run though. This is part of your training and one of the hardest parts too." He smiles wickedly. As I look back I see Aaron and Vander marching off in the opposite direction but in formation. "Must be part of their training to." I thought. I look back in front of me again and then start running to keep up with the commander.
We arrive at the camp sometime around midnight, I couldn't tell anymore I was too tired. I practically fell over on my face when we arrived, my legs were so weak and felt like they were going to fall off. Maeve looked fine just a little out of breath. "What the hell! How is she just a little tired from that run it's was so long and tiring." I thought. They showed us to where we were staying, it was a small tent near a fire flickering within shadows. The tent was made out of fur patches held together by strips of vines. I looked around the camp scanning for anything interesting to peak my interest. Nothing appealed to me that I saw until I payed my eyes on the most beautiful thing I ever saw, she moved in waves so mesmerizing I couldn't take me eyes off of her. There was just this giant cauldron of delicious stew sitting there waiting for me to eat all of it up. Looking at it I couldn't take it, I wanted some I wanted it so bad. I had to have it, I got up and started towards the delicious smell emanating from that heavenly bowl of all that's good in the world. I went to reach for it, almost grazing the brim when, at that moment I was dragged away and sat down in a chair. "Hey!" I testified, only to see it was my commander, Salundar. I gulp and he looks at me dead in the eye. "You shall not eat until you've completed your required amount of trading for the evening." He hands me large piece of wood. "Carve this into a batch of arrows, ten to be exact. When you are done you may eat. I start to testify but he raises his hand, I stop talking immediately. I start whittling away at the wood with a point-ish rock I found on the ground, it proved to no avail. I look over to see the commander walk Maeve away to a different spot to do something elsewhere. I look back down at my log, "ugh" this is ridiculous, maybe be I can sneak just a bite of the scrumptious blissful smelling food. I see the commander looking in my direction suspiciously, "he's a very keen fellow isn't he." I whisper under my breath. At this point Ranger has come and gone from getting food and heading to bed and I hadn't even been able to fashion one arrow out of this redwood. I feel my heavy eye lids fall down a bit then flutter back up as I fight the urge to fall asleep, but then the sheer power of the sleep deprivation had pushed me to my limits.
I jolt awake from a bucket of absolutely frigid water getting dumped on my face, as I scramble to get up off the ground I hit my head again on something hard. Turns out it was the bucket above me and Maeve was holding it with this stupid grin spread across her face as she drops the bucket on my stomach. "The commander says to fill this at the river before morning breakfast." She says a bit dryly as she walks away smile practically faded away to nothing. "It's north." She adds before walking briskly towards the campfire to get it going again. I finish getting up and focused on standing straight for a bit before attempting to walk. I snatch up the bucket and start north, mumbling as I continue to head into the woods. I start traipsing around the woods looking around for water, I decide to start up a jog in the general direction I thought it may be.
After an hour or so I still hadn't found anything and I had ended up back where I was somehow which left me befuddled and my mind was jogged for sure. So I started to head back to camp a little lost and confused, but I trudged on and seemed to keep from tripping all the way back. "Crap!" I yelp. "I jinxed it." I groan, as I drag my face off the dirt and dust myself. I finish regaining my senses and continue towards the tent in camp that housed commander Salundar. I peer in and see him sitting on a woven grass mat, "I couldn't find the river." I stammer, he raises and eyebrow and looks at me. "Go look for it again, you didn't try hard enough. This time though pay more attention to your surroundings."
