          "What isn't?" Dev wanted clarification

"What isn't?" Dev wanted clarification. "If you were having to eat raw meat because the storm lasted too long and supplies ran out. I couldn't do that. I would starve to death" I cringed again. "We would've saved the non perishables for you and eaten from the land a lot sooner. Say what you want about me but I am fair to my people. I wouldn't let you starve" he told him. Weirdly I believed him. "There may be a day where I prove you right in saying that humans don't belong here" I shrugged. He seemed to think about something.

"Do you picture yourself here in the future? Like way distant future" he asked me. I pressed my lips together and the whiskey had my cheeks burning pink but I wasn't embarrassed of anything. "If my messed up upbringing taught me anything it is that you should never get comfortable in an uncomfortable world. I have no idea what the future holds because it's always changing. Now, as of right now I would like to stay indefinitely. I have people who feel like family here and I enjoy the community."

He listened carefully and nodded along. "That's an interesting motto. Don't get comfortable in an uncomfortable world" he seemed to reflect on that. "Okay, my butt hurts, I'm getting off the floor" I abruptly stood up. It made his eyes dart around.

When he stood up his form was so much taller than mine. Our size difference is obvious. We placed the pillows we had been sitting on back onto the couch before we sat down ourselves. "It's late. I'll bring you blankets. You can sleep here" I offered Devran. He glanced down at the sofa then me. "You fit much better than I do on this little couch. I'll take the bed" he smartly remarked. I hit him with a pillow which made him laugh but when he hit me back my hair flew around by the sheer force of the wind.

"Um, ow" I complained. He glanced at me sheepishly and apologized. Then he fixed my hair and tucked it behind my ear. The moment oddly shifted the air around us. His hand remained frozen just beside my face and we were both just looking at one another.

I quickly shot my eyes away and he retracted his hand, clearing his throat and moving away from me. I just got up to retrieve blankets. I needed to leave that situation. When I was bending over into the closet I pulled a blanket and stood quickly which made me fly into something. I whirled around and Dev was just standing there. "Do you need something?" My voice got almost shy at his presence in my bedroom.

"Just the blanket" he said, placing his hands over mine to take the blanket from me. His flannel top was still unbuttoned and although it's been that way this whole time it was easier to ignore when we had the table between us. Now his firm figure was right in front of my face. If I leaned forward I could lick those defined pecs.

Suddenly the blanket dropped between us and Devran's hand was cupping my face as he rushed forward enough to pin me to the wall just beside the opened closet. I gasped but his lips sealing over mine had absorbed the sound. My hands flew up to his torso and I felt his hot flesh at my fingertips. I couldn't help running my hands up and down to feel every inch of what I have been wanting to touch.
