I listened as the rental truck roared to Life. It had finally arrived. The day I would move back to my hometown... More of a City though. I just lived on the outskirts. Though that was during the time I still lived with my family.
I sighed, gently placing my head down on the steering wheel of the moving truck. Looking back at my now-demolished home. Some Idiots who got the cool and Shiny abilities called Devils Gifts decided to fight next to my home. Destroying it completely. I had what I had salvaged in the truck.
I looked on the road ahead, Completely aware of the long...long drive I would have. Thankfully Pops had offered me a Place with him again, after not seeing my family in so long I knew this would be great. I gently rubbed the rough patch of skin on my face. It was a small cut from years prior.
Though the scar should have faded away, it didn't. I started driving, making My way back to the giant house I once called home, The same one I would now. The truck rumbled under the old gravel road.
=======
It had been roughly 14 hours since I started my drive. grabbing the crappy coffee from a gas station; I took a sip. Cringing at its now cold and even crappier taste. Humming to the tune on the Radio, I continued the drive. The Gps said I had another 6 hours before I Reached anywhere near My childhood home. I hummed along to the crappy old country station that had been playing the same song over and over.
Jesus any music is better than this one damn song! - I thought, Shutting the radio in the truck off.
I was starting to wish I had started my journey in the early morning instead, I watched the scenery pass by. Re-thinking my life choices on moving so far away, Of course, I just had to live out my dream in a completely different place. As much as I loved Alabasta... and My old Bar. I couldn't stay. not after my entire life was dumped down the drain in a split second.
=======
6 hours had passed in a jiffy, I took a glance at the Sign on the side of the road.
Welcome to Grand City
Bunch'a liars... There wasn't anything Grand about the city in the first place. It was pretty funny to anyone who had lived or lives in the city though. A Nice little inside joke for locals. I made a Turn, Pulling onto a Gravel road, It was about 2 Am here in Grand City, So My arrival was Very early. There was no guarantee that anyone in the family would be up at this hour... unless Marco and Ace still had horrible sleep schedules.
I made the turn Pulling into the driveway, Surprised to see my mother. Parking the truck I hopped out,
"Miha, Good to see you" She walked up to me with outstretched arms. I hugged her, giving her a quiet but questioning look.
"What're you doing up so late ma?"
"Ask your Cabron of a Father" She hummed with irritation, Of course, Of course, it was Pops fault mom was still up.
I chuckled, Heading inside with her. As soon as I made it through the doorway I was tackled by my Brothers, the exceptions being Marco and Thatch who would wait for their turns. Luffy, Ace, and Sabo proceeded to squeeze the life out of me. I squeezed back what I could reach. Luffy refused to let go even after I got up. My answer to this problem? None, the best solution was to let him get all the hugs out. Ace and Sabo chuckled, prying our younger brother off of me.
"So, What did my room get turned into?" I joked tiredly
"Nothing Miha, We had to clean it up a bit though" Lidia hummed
"We can get everything out of the truck in the morning Lass, For now, we all need some rest" Pops smiled gently
"Pendejo..." Lidia grumbled, Yup, Pops had just landed himself in the Dog shed, Pop didn't care though Simply laughing it off.
Marco and Thatch gave me Quick hugs before heading off to their rooms. The lights on the first floor were shut off, I walked up the stairs turning off the lights behind me. I looked down the hall, seeing the familiar door that looked like it hadn't changed since I moved out. Still red paint stains from when I and a friend decided to paint my room without Ma or Pop's consent.
The random Sharpie drawings around the frame of the door... Almost like nothing had changed... Like I hadn't left at all.
I grabbed the door handle gently, feeling myself being pulled into my memories...
"Okay! Okay! Just wait, We've got a surprise for you!" ???? Tied a blindfold around my eyes.
"Please just trust us this once! Even Ace thinks it's a good idea!" ???? Snickered
"I'm gonna kill you both if its something stupid" I chuckled
"Oh, it's not." ?????? Hummed Opening the door for me, I took a few steps inside before hearing the door close and lock.
I listened for any hint of life in the room, slowly lifting my hands and taking the blindfold off.
"PFF- HAHA!" I began to laugh hysterically at my boyfriend, He was all wrapped up in Ribbon with a little bow on top. "Aww~ Babe, You look great!" I continued to snicker
"HmpmmrmpH!"
I took the piece of tape covering his mouth off, pecking him on the lips.
"Best gift yet~" I hummed quietly, He quieted down, leaning his forehead against mine, in one of the sweetest moments since we had started dating...
Taking a deep breath I opened the door. It looked cleaner than it was left. Much, Much cleaner... It smelled like cleaning supplies instead of his musty dusty cologne. God, he needed a new one. I laughed lightly, shutting the door, Admiring the detailed drawings on the walls, Skulls, Crossbones, Machines, Random graffiti. The pictures on the walls were still there, Faded and covered in a sheet of dust but still there. Sighing I opened the closet doors, giggling once I saw how many of my brother's clothes were in there. Looks like I had some actual clothes now.
Grabbing a pair of shorts and a T-shirt I slipped them on. Getting underneath the covers and falling fast asleep...
=======
The morning came faster than I had expected... Well, it was more of mid-afternoon, But who was counting?
My eyes kept a firm gaze on the clock next to my bed. It all felt surreal... I was home Again. Next was to look for a place and revenue to start up the Bar again...
