People Pleaser [CORPSKKUNO]

Chapter: 4

Sykkuno awoke in a dimly lit medical room, someone was off to his right working on a computer. There were two Bracts standing by the door, but instead of their usual riot gear-esc uniforms they looked a lot more like regulation standard law enforcers.

The person off to the side noticed Sykkuno sit up, they motioned the two guards to leave as they walked up to him. Sykkuno recognized them as "Yelena", their bright-neon hair gave it away.
"You rest well?" They asked as they stood by him, they typed something out on a holo-pad and looked back too him.

"Where am I?" Sykkuno rubbed his head trying to think of the last things he remembered. Yelena looked reluctant to answer, she looked up at the door before she eventually did.
"2nd deck medbay, on the Cnidaria."

"How long was I out?" He looked around for a clock but couldn't fine one. The room he was in did look like a medical bay but it also looked like it could easily be used for... darker, reasons.
"A few hours." Yelena looked back to Sykkuno and put on a fake smile. She still wore her mask but it was pretty easy to tell how she was feeling.

"Well, thank you for helping me." Sykkuno smiled back awkwardly as he put his hand back down.
"If you don't mind me asking, why's the Cervell so obsessed with you?" Yelena moved in-between Sykkuno and the door.

"Wha- What? I didn't-" Sykkuno laughed nervously as Yelena's mouth curved into a more, sadistic smile.
"I mean, I had too work my whole life for this position. And you, you! Get pretty privileges or some bullshit!"

"He let's you in places, and do things no one else can do, or get to, if they don't have a death wish!" She was reaching for a holster on her hip as she rambled.
"Do you know how lucky you are senator? I wanted the Cervell and you-!" She was cut off as a blaster bolt flew through her chest.

She fell to the ground, as long with the knife she was trying to pull out.
"Sorry about that, the people here can be a bit crazy." Corpse said nonchalantly as he tucked a blaster into his trench-coat .
"You alright?"

Sykkuno looked down at Yelena as he moved to sit on the edge of the medical bed.
"I think so." He noticed his robes sitting on a table next to him, they were neatly folded and whatever damage the explosion may have caused was gone. Speaking of the explosion,
"Did you figure out what happened on Qu'ell?"

"Qu'ell police force's last ditch effort." Corpse held out a hand for Sykkuno as he stood up.
"I already took care of it."

The door opened again and a young Terran entered, he had short hair and wore slightly battered clothes.
"Tia Hopom sir." He saluted, he looked to Yelena's body and then to Sykkuno, they made eye contact. Tia realized and looked back to the Cervell.

"Maintenance reports?" Corpse asked calmly, annoyance hiding below.
"No sir, there's a small ship approaching the-"
"Who?"

Sykkuno studied the Terran as their face seemed to be a mix of fear and amazement.
"Vallen. They seem to think we're a support fleet."

"Are they asking for help?" Sykkuno asked, Tia looked at him and put on an expression of worry, he looked to the Captain and back to the senator.

He was scared for Sykkuno, but Corpse only stayed quiet.
"They say they were on a trading job, and that arriving Zaroian vessels ambushed them as they were leaving."

Corpse nodded and waved him off, Tia bowed his head and left.
"Sykkuno can you go to the 1st deck? I'll handle this-"

"Please don't hurt them." Sykkuno cut him off, Corpse had his hand up to his forehead but stopped as he looked down at the senator.
"We made a deal, I intend to keep it."
