Chapter 4- The First Day of School
Two Weeks Later
(A.N. please don't come after me about the time jumps 😅 I'm not sure how far apart the exam and the first day is)
Koko's POV~~
It has been a few weeks since I learned why my mother treats me the way she does. It's also a day before Momo and I have our first day at UA, well technically it's the night before. My sister and I are sitting in her room going through our checklists for tomorrow. Momo is over on her bed and I'm floating near her table so I can keep watch on my charging sound mufflers. "Hey, Mo? Do you think we're going to see some quirks like ours?" I ask her with a head tilt.
She put down her list and bag to look at my floating form, "I'm not sure Ko. I'm sure there could be a few that are in the same category as them though." She laughed before she reached to pet my left ear, calming the slight nerves I have at the thought of new people, "Don't worry sis, I'm sure everyone in our class is nice." I let out a soft sigh at the affection and slowly lower myself to the ground.
Once I touch the soft carpet I can feel mother's soft footsteps. 'How come I didn't hear her?' I blinked up at my sister, "Mother is so quiet today-" I look towards the door with pointed ears."-I didn't hear until now." Mother knocks on the door softly as she pokes her head in, "Sorry girls, it's time to go to sleep. Do you have your alarm set, Momo?"
As always, it has been set for 6:45 am, "Yes mother, I reset it this morning." My sister says while getting up to give our mother a hug. "Don't forget to put your hair in a braid, Momo. Koko, don't forget to unplug your sound mufflers and put them in your bag." I laugh and sway my tail gently as I get off the floor, giving her a hug as well, "We will mother. Good night and sleep well you two." I release the hug and collect my technology.
They say their goodnights as I jump through the hole I made in the floor. After I land on my new fuzzy rug, I place my sound mufflers in their special travel case in my bag. 'I'm glad I don't have to worry about them getting damaged.' The last time I had placed them in my bag they were smaller, due to my size, and got crushed under everything else. For a week I either had to stay in the mansion or take away my animal ears whenever I went into town.
After putting the case in my bag and sitting on my bed, I go through my checklist once more to make sure I had everything. 'Notebook? Check. Pencil bag? Check. Erasers, pens, and pencil sharpener? Check, check, oh wait where's my pencil sharpener?' I put my pencil case down just as I hear Mo's special knock on the floor. I wave my tail as I laugh at my sister's good timing.
I open the floor from my bed and see her braided hair fall through. "Hey, Ko you aren't looking for this are you?" she says as she has my grey pencil sharpener in her hand. "Great timing as always sis-" I pause to catch the tossed item, "-I was just about to ask if I left it with you." She smiles at me before leaving the hole. I shake my head at her and wave my finger in a circle to close the floor. "Silly Momo," mumbling to myself with a wave of my tail.
Putting everything in my bag, I placed it near my door before going to my closet. I changed into my pajamas and could already hear the light snores of my sister. My parents had quickly given me my own bathroom, amazingly it had a separate shower and tub. After brushing my teeth and washing my face I decided it was time to go to bed, my last thoughts being of the first day of school.
Time skip~ Morning
The moment I heard the annoying beeping of my sister's alarm I groaned, 'I already hate that alarm.' The sun was peeking through my curtains as I opened my eyes, making the room a soft purple. I huffed as I rolled out of my bed and stumbled into my bathroom to do my morning routine.
