"Isn't it a safety pendant?" Somi then said apologetically, "I'm really sorry, Miss Kim. I don't know much about these things, this item was once given to me by an important person. I've always cherished it. Moreover, I've brought it along with me for so many years, I thought it might be a Pendant of Peace, but I never thought that I was wrong."
Somi's eyes curved in embarrassment. Her eyes were big, but when she smiled, they seemed to bend into two crescent moons. It was beautiful and full of spirit.
"No, I already appreciate Miss Jeon's kind intentions. Since it was an important gift from someone else, you better keep it carefully. Perhaps, some of these things can only be perfect memories but can not be repeated in your life, so you should take good care of them." Jennie smiled brightly.
Somi's eyes showed a hint of coldness and arrogance for a moment, but her expression didn't change. At this moment, the waiter came and brought the desert she had just ordered.
It was unknown what Nayeon was talking about, but she succeeded in making Little Fishie laugh. When she saw the pudding, Little Fishie stretched out her small hand to grab the cake box and happily yelled, "Mommy, I will give this cake to Aunt. We are good friends!"
Nayeon immediately broke into a wide smile. "Wow, we're good friends, are we? Will you give me the cake?"
"Mhmm!" Little Fishie very generously pushed the cake to Nayeon, "Auntie, you go ahead and eat it, I have pudding!"
"What a cute child." Jennie looked at the girl who looked like Somi and praised her wholeheartedly, "And she is very sensible. She seems to be following in her mother's footsteps. She must be very diligent. How old is she?"
Somi touched her daughter's head. "Five years old. "Xiaoyi, say hello to Auntie Jiang."
"Hello, Auntie Jiang!" Little Fishie smiled sweetly, then turned around as if asking for a reward, and said, "Mommy, can I have the pudding now?"
"Sure." Somi handed her the pudding spoon and smiled.
Xiaoyi took the spoon and skillfully scooped up the pudding with her spoon. She even dug out a piece of the pudding to deliver to Nayeon's mouth. "Auntie, you have some too!"
At the same time, Jennie's face was calm as she stared into Somi's eyes, which were filled with a strange smile.
Nayeon ate cake pudding with Xiaoyi while playing with her hands.
Somi didn't eat any of the sweet snacks either, and just like Jennie, she ordered plain water while quietly sizing up her.
What did she want to see?
Maybe Somi didn't want to use her child to do anything, or perhaps she really wanted her to be a woman who can easily influence the wind and shadows.
Jennie cursed silently. She was no longer a teenager. If a person grew up to be twenty-four or twenty-five without even the most basic of knowledge and mentality, then wouldn't her life have been in vain?
Somi's daughter was very similar to Somi. Even though the child was five years old, she still could not represent anything. Plus, this cute little thing was surely not Lisa's daughter. If she was still curious, there was a medical test called DNA in this society, so of course she will not think too much about it.
Seeing that her expression was calm, Somi could only smile. Hearing how Nayeon had gotten into a fight with Xiaoyi, she smiled happily.
Somi looked at Nayeon and asked, "Oh right, I have forgotten to ask? This is ..."
"I'm Sis Jennie's colleague." Nayeon's face was full of smiles as she looked up at Somi. "Your daughter is so cute! I like little kids like her."
"It's rare for Xiaoyi to get along with strangers." Somi smiled amiably at her. Her gaze seemed to analyze the type of friend Jennie had.
"Wow, looks like I'm quite popular, aren't I, Little Fishie!" Nayeon didn't pay attention to Somi's expression as she continued to tease the child.
Seeing Nayeon's childish behavior, Jennie could only helplessly sigh and smile. In the blink of an eye, a radiant smile appeared on her face as she looked at Somi, "I heard that Miss Jeon got married a few years ago? What is your daughter surnamed?"
"Miss Kim seems to be very clear about my situation?" Somi raised her eyebrows and suddenly revealed a knowing smile. "I'm sorry, I almost forgot, you're from the media."
Somi's words didn't have any hint of edge. She was still looking at Jennie with the same faint playful expression. She didn't even reveal any trace of provocation in her eyes.
It had been so long, but Somi still wasn't making any move. It was as if she had never really intended to take action, but she was trying to penetrate into everything. She seemed calm and collected, but she seemed to be waiting for something.
Was the time not right?
"We met at the Manoban Group's entrance at that time, and I once said that I came to H City with Jisoo. I heard that Miss Kim grew up with him? The childhood sweetheart's experience was so enviable, why didn't the two of you get together? As far as I know, Jisoo seems to have a soft spot for you, Miss Kim." Somi smiled. A sly glimmer shone in her clear eyes.
"Eh? President Jisoo likes you?" When Nayeon heard this, she immediately looked at Jennie with her gossipy eyes.
"Of course, we both grew up together but Jisoo is not my type." Jennie responded indifferently.
"Is that so? What type of man do you like, Miss Kim?" Somi blinked her eyes. It was as if she was very curious about it. She's also behaved like both of them were very familiar with each other.
"Aiya, is there even a need to ask? With a good husband like President Manoban, other than loving her own husband, who else could she love?" Nayeon, who was sitting beside her, interrupted with a confused expression, causing Somi's expression to freeze for a moment.
"Really?" Somi quickly smiled. She looked at Nayeon with a confident smile, "Sometimes, a marriage without love is lamentable. Just like some of the sisters who have good relationships with me. They often get married for the benefit of their family and in the end, their loveless marriages end up in failure."
Nayeon was stunned by Somi's words. She finally understood something, but she couldn't be sure. In the blink of an eye, she glanced at Jennie.
Jennie's expression remained unchanged. Her clear eyes filled with a natural smile, as if she was listening to someone else's story and hadn't heard the disagreement within those words.
"Sis Jennie used to be just like me, a small citizen. She definitely doesn't have any family interests. Besides, Sis Jennie and President Manoban are so fond of each other. Their affections almost made me die from envy!" Whether it was intentional or not, Nayeon no longer focused on playing with Little Fishie. Her gaze faintly fell on Somi's face, as if she was trying to guess the woman's motives.
"Nayeon, what are you trying to say? Miss Jeon is talking about her own sister. Why are you mentioning my name?" Jennie playfully scolded her.
When her eyes fell on Nayeon's face, she smiled because she understood what Jennie was trying to do.
"Indeed. Since Miss Kim has such a good husband, she should cherish him well!" Somi's smile was like a flower. "I was just saying that a marriage without love usually doesn't have a good ending. Marriage must have the basis of feelings. Otherwise, it won't last for long."
"It seems that Miss Jeon has learned a lot in your five years' marriage." Jennie took a sip of water and lightly put down her glass. "I once thought that my husband simply liked me, but after hearing you say so, I recalled his tender and considerate attitude towards me, as well as the way he occasionally showed mercy and indulgence to me, liked I was a child. No matter when or where, he always trusted and encouraged me. He pampered me a lot."
