Yet, no one knew that the one Jennie hated the most in her heart was her mother. She was the woman who started living in a nightclub, the woman who sold herself to those people, the woman who washed her face in tears at home, the woman who led a hellish life, the woman who finally couldn't take it anymore and selfishly jumped down from the rooftop four years later.

A woman who had given up her life for a failed love, for a man who was worse than an animal.

Jennie hated her mother. She hated Hae-jin. She was angry. Why did a woman willing to live in such a cowardly and incompetent manner just because a man like him?

If it was her, she would fight for it.

If she couldn't compete, what could she do? After all, life was day after day, and once the sky turned dark, the sun would rise tomorrow as usual. No one would really walk into a dead end.

"She's willing to force herself into a corner where no one could see her, and every day, she would tell herself that she was desperate. Then, when she could no longer bear it, she decided to end her life in such a cruel way." Jennie mocked in her heart.

Jennie hated her mother so much, but she also missed that woman so much. Her heart ached, but she was still unable to sympathize with her.

A cowardly woman was indeed pathetic, but she was never worthy of sympathy.

Even that woman was her own mother.

A man who has once been touched by a touch of warmth decided to abandon her mother for selfish reasons. He let her heart be broken.

When she met Eunwoo in F City, everything hidden in the past once again resurfaced in her mind. Love...Who could truly understand it?

Even if Eunwoo did love her, how much did he love?

If Jennie was a little cowardly, would she follow in her mother's footsteps by committing suicide?

Thinking that it would give that man a fatal blow.

Thinking that he would regret it and mourn for you forever.

Fortunately, she was clear-headed. Perhaps deceiving herself could slow down the pain in her heart, but she will never do things that would endanger her life just because of a man like him!

Jennie had already flipped through the materials countless times. While she was silently memorizing terms in the materials, there was a knock on the door. She looked at the time, it was 9 PM.

When she got up to open the door, she was not surprised to see Lisa standing outside the door.

At this time, other staff may not dare knock on the door of her room.

Lisa's gaze fell on her the moment the door opened.

Jennie had planned to go to bed earlier after looking at the materials, so she took a shower early. Since she wasn't used to wearing the hotel's bathrobe, she took out her pajamas from the suitcase.

Although the pajamas were not exposed, she was used to not wearing any clothes before she went to bed.

Aware of Lisa's shallow gaze and the faint hint of a teasing smile on his lips, Jennie immediately lowered her head and looked down. She immediately turned around and hurriedly ran to pick up her jacket and put it on.

As she heard Lisa's footsteps on the carpet, Jennie immediately turned around, looking at him.

Lisa seemed to be in a good mood today, and when he saw the scattered materials on the table, he took a quick glance at it and looked at her. "You really take your work seriously."

"I have to. After all, this is the first time I have come across such a meeting, and it happened because of you. Of course, I have to grasp it well and not neglect it."

When Jennie heard Lisa talking about work, the embarrassment she'd felt when he'd caught her naked was gone.

Lisa smiled and put down the document. "Have you had dinner?" he asked plainly.

"I ate a little. The hotel will deliver some snacks and fruit to each room at 6.30 pm."

"That's all?"

"Yes, I'm too busy checking the material for tomorrow's meeting, so I don't have time to eat."

"Change your clothes, and let's go out." Lisa said.

"Why?"

"For a few days you were in G City, not only I was your superior but I was also your husband. I can't possibly let you be hungry." He then looked at the A4 paper on the table, which was filled with words.

Jennie had written them down while she was reading the materials. As she wrote, she had a deep impression of them.

Lisa seemed to be interested in it. He picked up the notes and began to read them carefully.

After a while, he turned his head to look at the woman who had been standing motionlessly by the bed. She was still wearing a pair of pajamas and a jacket.

Jennie's eyelids twitched. She looked at the door, gesturing for him to leave.

Lisa was surprised for a moment before he smiled understandingly. He left the room with the notes in his hand. When he reached the door, he stopped and turned back to glance at Jennie. "I've seen it all. What's there to be embarrassed about?"

With that, he left.

Jennie almost vomited blood. She almost picked up her slippers and threw them at him. She forced herself to turn around and change her clothes.

So what if he had seen it? How many women have been married for a few years and they're still not used to changing their clothes in front of their husbands? Moreover, they have not done anything to each other.

However, Jennie somehow felt that Lisa's words didn't sound ambiguous at all. It was more like the kind of natural, intimate relationship between husband and wife.

When she was done changing, the door to Lisa's room was open. She looked around but didn't see him. She walked straight to his door and saw him on the phone.

Hearing her footsteps, Lisa glanced back at her and said to the phone, "Sure, that's it." Then he hung up.

"Since it's so late, there shouldn't be many restaurants open, right? The night in the northern city is very quiet, it's not as lively as the night in the southern city. It's still autumn now, and there aren't many shops open at night." Jian Jennie said.

On the contrary, Lisa did not seem to be worried at all. When he walked out, his eyes fell onto her body. "Wearing this a little? Aren't you afraid of catching another cold?"

Jennie shrugged her shoulder. "I didn't bring many clothes because I only stayed for four or five days."

"Why don't you wear the jacket I gave you this afternoon?"

"It's in my room. I was about to return it to you, but I forgot to take it out just now." After saying that, Jennie turned around and was about to go get it.

"Put on that jacket first. It's five degrees above zero right now."

Jennie paused and did not refuse. She went straight back to her room to put on the jacket. Although the jacket was quite large and the sleeves were quite long, it still gave her the appearance of a cute little girl.

"Let's go." She looked at Lisa, who was standing outside the door.
