Snitch

"Your daughter skipped detention yesterday Mrs. Y/Ln, did you get a chance to tell her what happened y/n?" the headmistress asked.

You stood silent with your head down trying to avoid eye contact. Your mother didn't know a single thing. This morning, she got a call to come in regarding your unladylike behavior. Your mother is an architect, she's a busy woman. She usually comes home late and leaves early. She knew it wasn't your fault that she didn't know about this incident.

"It's Ms. and no I don't know what happened, yesterday was a busy day at work I came home late" she spoke in your defense.

Headmistress told her the entire story leaving out the part about the insensitive behavior of the basketball captain and his fangirls. Your mother listened carefully before saying anything.

"So you're telling me you made my daughter wait 3 hours after school and made her mop the gym which is certainly the duty of the club using the gym" your mother exclaimed," don't get me wrong but you should've given her something else as punishment."

The headmistress laughed hesitantly and agreed with your mother how the teacher was too harsh to make you mop.

On your way out you smiled like a jerk to your mom and whispered, "damn girl, that was smooth!"

Your mother narrowed her eyes at you and hissed, "why were you reading manga in class huh? I'll have to throw them out if you keep going on like this"

"Please! please! don't do that, this won't happen again" you begged her with joint palms.

"Okay I won't for now" she cracked up seeing how easy it was for her to make you beg.

You came back to class wondering who sold you out to the headmistress.

"Did you snitch to the headmistress about yesterday?" you asked Akashi as if you'll were strangers.

"Do you think of me as a low-life?" he whispered under his breath.

"Just answer yes or no"

"no, I didn't sell you out y/n"

Deep down you wanted him to be the snitch so that you could have another reason not to like him. It didn't matter now who the snitch was. None of your friends knew about yesterday and other than Akashi you didn't care who sold you out.

You were sincerely doing your classwork when you heard a familiar voice and looked up to find an unfamiliar face.

"Hey! I'm Ryu Sato, I saw you at the gym yesterday", he continued "I hope you're okay now"

You squinted and said, "what?-oh" it took you a while to realize what he was talking about, "just mind your own business"

"You weren't this rude when we first met" Akashi butted in.

"you're the one to talk" you exclaimed, "and you mind your own business too". You scrunched your nose and he raised his eyebrow at you.

"Akashi it's alright. Y/n's right I should've minded my own business" he quoted trying to calm you both down, "actually I was the one who told the coach about yesterday he told the headmistress I guess"

"You have a lot of nerve to say this to my face" you stated.

"No don't get me wrong, I was just worried about you but it backfired. I'm extremely sorry about that" he said with his head down.

"Way to be worried", you scoffed. "Apology accepted. Now go back to your place I don't plan on getting detention again."

"Oh right I'll go"

"You're famous this morning. What happened yesterday? Are you hiding something?" Chiyo asked.

"not now, at lunch," you said without even looking at her.

"kay" she huffed.

During lunch, you told your friends everything that happened yesterday except the part where Akashi kissed you.

"okay class settle down and pick a lab partner" announced your chemistry teacher.

Chio was with Quinn since nobody liked Quinn much because of her personality. You looked around the lab to find a sane person to pair up with. Akashi looked at you from a distance then proceeded to pair up with one of his fangirls. You wondered if he did that just to dis you.

You were left alone at the back of the class without any partner. Your class strength was of an odd number, someone would've been left alone eventually.

You were sorta relieved that you didn't have any lab partners. Your teacher let you be alone since you were a good student.

From the back of the classroom, you watched Akashi's fangirl having the time of her life. She was getting a little too touchy which fueled your anger. You couldn't see Akashi's expression he was facing the teacher. But you were sure he was enjoying it.

Ryu was sitting in front of you. He occasionally looks back and sees you staring at Akashi. After a while, he finally spoke, "y/n? would you like to go out with me this weekend?"

You were caught off guard by this question. You could see he built up a lot of courage to ask you that.
"As in... a date?" you knew exactly what he meant but still asked to confirm.

His face tinted pink on hearing the word date. He gave you a nod and looked away. You didn't want to shatter his hopes. At that moment you were thinking what about Akashi? Then the image of Akashi's fangirls popped in your head and you realized that he's a lost cause if you chase after him, you're only going to get hurt. And Ryu was kinda cute. He had light brown hair with big brown eyes and soft features.

You poked his shoulder with your index finger making him turn around to face you. You gave him a warm smile and said, "I don't even know you but Okay".

His face lit up like a puppy who just found his lost toy. You liked how happy it made him. He turned away and went back to his texts.

You could feel eyes lingering over you. It felt like someone was spying on you. You looked up to see Akashi staring at you with furrowed eyes and a stern face that sent ripples down your spine. He didn't look away even when you caught him staring. You looked away from his cold face and started fidgeting with your books. It made you uncomfortable.
