Two birds on a wire

Writer's note: I know it's a really short chapter sorry ＞︿＜ ❁✿♡

Wait a damn minute did I say yes. NO, no, no, no, no...WHAT is WRONG with me? shit shit shit. How am I supposed to say no now? I should kill myself! 

Your internal panic continued for the rest of the day. You decided to turn him down by the end of the day, but how you didn't know. You wondered if you should ask Chiyo for help but realized that she'd just make it worse.

You avoided everyone that day. The sloth who wouldn't even move from her seat during lunch was pacing back and forth in different corridors of the school.

Although you didn't want to hurt his feelings, you decided that you'd keep it straightforward and say what you feel. 

You stopped and took a deep breath before entering the gym. You were scared to make eye contact with Akashi even though you did nothing wrong. 'Wanting what you can't have' was that your mistake? maybe, even though he kissed you first and led you on. Maybe that's how love goes in this world. You were still hurting but weren't sure how to embrace it and move away from all of this. Clarity become a myth for you which made you do things without having complete understanding of it. You told Akashi to stay away, however, your mind keeps searching for him when he's not around, longing for his presence yet when he's in front of you you're filled with nothing but disgust and despair. 

You went inside and took a quick scan of the gym. Akashi saw you and came up to you.

"Hey--"

"I'm not here for you" you cut Akashi off before he could say anything else. You spotted Sato and asked him to come out for a minute.

Akashi was left hanging. This never happened to him before. His seniors saw that and imitated him in low pitch 'hey'. Giggling traveled across the gym. He gave his teammates the ultimate death stare and everyone went back to practice. 

"What's up? did something happen?" Ryu asks curiously.

"Well, I'll have to call a rain check on our date" you let everything out all st once and stared at the ground.

"Okay, I guess it was too good to be true but why? give me a reason at least." he signed.

"I'm sorry, I didn't think it through before saying yes. I don't think we'll ever be anything more than friends plus I know nothing about you. And I'm not in a very comfortable place in my life right now." you explained.

"I understand" 

"hmm"

You were about to walk away but he started talking again.

"You really like him, don't you?" he asked.

You pouted and turned away.

"You don't deserve this"

This made you freeze but you didn't say anything.

"I don't mean you don't deserve him or that Akashi doesn't deserve you. He's great. He's smart, talented, kind, and pretty even for a guy. I just mean that nobody deserves to get hurt like  this." He spouted.

You still didn't say anything just stared at him with your head tilted.

"But I guess we'll are hurting aren't we?" He went on.

"You're weird" you finally spoke.

He started laughing, " how can you say that with a straight face?"

"How can 'you' say 'that' with a straight face?" you repeated and laughed without any intention.

Akashi was watching the two of you laughing from a distance and clicked his tongue.
He was getting furious now.
