Dream woke up to a loud commotion out on the main deck. He rubbed his eyes and sat up groaning "What the fuck?" he yawned as he stretched
He stood up from his bed and got himself dressed he also found time to wash his face the best he could with the last lot of sea water he had - it actually did wonders for his skin but he could only collect a certain amount when they stopped at an island or kingdom so he had to make sure he had enough to last a week at least, it was annoying to continuously fill up the bowl. It was also annoying that he had forgotten to get a new bowl full from where they had just been. And by the movement of the ship he could only assume that they were off to a new destination. He put his boots and hat on then left the room to see what all the noise was about
"Oh my god that's SO much money" a voice yelled in amazement
"Yeah too bad we've just left the damn place" another groaned in annoyance
As Dream's boots clicked against the wood steps, the voices that were talking or shouting in unison slowly came to quiet. Dream continued to walk with an annoyed look towards his crew stopping in front of them, it was now so silent that a pin could drop and it would echo. He looked among his crew who were stood up straight with slightly worried faces.
"So...would anyone like to share why I was woken up by whatever you all shouting about or are you going to look at me like I have a gun to your head" he said scanning their faces "Karl. You seemed to be the loudest, care to explain." he said the end as more of an order than a question
Karl stayed where he was until he was pushed forward by someone behind him, he stumbled but caught himself "Um, sorry Captain but we were just looking at a flyer which is telling about a prince's disappearance and the reward was a lot so there was a mix of shock and frustration as the prince is from the kingdom we had just left" Karl showed the flyer to Dream
Dream took the flyer "Hmm, this flyer is useless. There's no name just "L'manburg's prince is missing" it's almost like they don't want him back. There's barely a description it only says male, white pale skin, brown hair, around average height" He then looked to his crew "three of you fit this description perfectly but I'm one-hundred percent certain none of you are the prince of this place." he threw the flyer to the floor "Stop being useless and do something productive" he ordered and walked away from his crew. He made his way up the steps leading to the wheel. He waved at Callahan the ship steerer and walked towards his navigator
"Hey Sam, how's the water looking?" he asked
Sam looked up from his compass "It's been the same since we left, calm, unmoving, clear." he stated "perfect conditions"
Dream sighed and leaned on the ledge looking over into the clean water there was a moment of silence "Do you think I'm too harsh?" he paused "like on them" he turned around and pointed at his crew who were trying to figure something out
Sam turned to look at Dream "Not necessarily, only when you're in a bad mood or you've not gotten enough sleep" he had a moment of silence almost like he was debating on whether he should say what he's thinking "like today for example"
Dream slowly turned his head and showed Sam an unamused look on his face. The amusement quickly turned into a lung crushing wheeze "You really- you really don't hold back do you?" Dream patted Sam's shoulder "that's what I like about you man."
"Thank you Captain, I didn't say much but I appreciate that...you should probably apologies to them, Karl especially he's probably feeling embarrassed and guilty" Sam turned away from Dream and looked forward
Dream followed his gaze and saw Karl sat on the top of the steps leading up to the other side of the ship with is legs pulled to his chest, his head buried in his knees "...you're right I'll go say something to him" he stood up fully "Thanks Sam" he left.
