Today was the day. Maya had called me last night panicking about this morning because today was finally her debut day. I woke up pretty early and had a light breakfast before calling her again.
"Maya! Today's the day!" I yelled into the phone once i got back to my room
"I know~ I am so nervous but I'm also excited. It's so weird. I talked to my sunbaes earlier too and they told me I'd do fine but I really don't know."
"You're gonna kill it, I know you will. Now get over those nerves and blow them off with your amazing stage presence. I cannot wait to hear the title track later. What time does it come out again?" I asked
"Around 7 pm, when I'm done with the practice stages and interview I come back to the company for the release party. It's nothing bit though, just between my crew and I."
"I seriously can't wait! Have a lovely day Maya, you're gonna crush it."
"Of course, thank you so much Aria. I have to go now so I'll talk to you later yeah?"
"Don't mention it, anything for you. No doubt about that." With that, we called the call. Just before I entered the bathroom to get ready my phone rang again.
"Hello?"
"Hey Aria, it's Chenle. I kinda stole your number from Maya's phone but it's for a good cause I promise."
"Oh hello Chenle-ssi, it's nice to talk to you again. What can I help you with?"
"We want to plan a surprise congratulatory release party for Maya and we wanted you to attend because you are her best friend."
"I have to check and see if I'm able to sneak out of the dorms today. I will try my best though."
"Great. Stay safe, bye!"
"Same goes to you Sunbae, bye!" Now I had to get into the shower.

We were all gathered around for lunch by now, Maya was still M.I.A which was no surprise because I knew she would be really busy. Sunghoon and I were talking about her because I was telling him or rather threatening him to go easy on her when he has to interview her.
"I won't grill her princess, she'll be fine."
"She better be or else. Anyway, we're making her a surprise party and I was wondering if you'd help me sneak out." He chocked on his food
"Excuse me what?"
"You are excused now help me."
"I can't do that ask Heeseung Hyung."
"Fine." I got up and made my way to Heeseung, he was drinking a cup of water because he had just finished eating
"Can you sneak me out of the dorms?"
"Nope, ask Jungwon."
"But he'll say no."
"Isn't that the point Ria? You might get caught if you leave."
"I'll be careful please!" I whined
"Ask Jungwon"
"Jungwonnie~ Where are you?" I yelled
"In my room!" He yelled back
"Hey, so, I was wondering if-"
"No."
"You didn't let me finish the sentence."
"No."
"Can I finish my sentence please?"
"Fine." He dropped his phone and looked at me
"I want to go to Maya's release party by 7 pm and I'll be back by 10:30 tops. Please Oppa?" I blinked my eyes cutely
"It will not work on me, why are you even asking me when we have Dokyun in the other room?" A light bulb lit up in my brain and I ran to where Dokyun was
"I want to go to Maya's release party today by 7 pm can I go please?" I asked nicely
"When are you coming back?" He asked understandingly
"Around 10:30 or 11 pm."
"Alright."
"Really?"
"Yeah why not, she's your best friend."
"Thank you so much Oppa, you're the best." Now the waiting game started.

I Realised I didn't really have to wait that long because soon enough 7 pm hit. I refused to answer Maya's texts in case I spilt any details of the party. I arrived a few minutes before Maya and some of the NCT boys along with Aespa had told me to hide and wait for her. The moment the door opened we jumped up yelling 'surprise'. She rushed towards me giving me a hug first
"Ouch, you gave her a hug before all of us?"
"I'm her best friend okay? I get the first hug." I teased and we all laughed. We soon sat down with me cuddling up to Maya on the couch to watch her first MV with the title track 'Killing Me Softly'.

It was amazing. She really was made to be an idol. We talked more and ate before it was time for me to go. Dokyun had picked me up and I told him everything that had happened and how good Maya's song was. That's all I talked about even when I was with the boys until I fell asleep.
