The speed of a Tooka

Cody frowned, looking down at the speed level on the treadmill. He thought after his time as a Tooka, he'd struggle to get to the speeds he used to be able to, but he just got to the speed and held it for twice the length he usually does.
He upped the speed level.

-----

The treadmill can not contain that amount of speed for too long, it seems. He stared at the smoking treadmill while the mechanics fretted around it. He could feel that Wrap was checking him over if he was injured.

"You broke a treadmill?" Obi-Wan asked, moving over to Cody's standing, "by running too fast?"

"That's what the vode seem to think," Cody shrugged, looking over at Obi-Wan as Wrap huffed and walked away. "Not sure how'd you do that."

"Sir!" One of the mechanics said before turning and changing to, "sirs!"

"Yes, Cog?" Obi-Wan asked, walking over to the mechanics, feeling Cody staying at his side.

Cog turned to face the Commander. "Sir, you need to use the Jedi standard treadmill if you want to reach those speeds again," Cog explained, "with the chance that your speed has furthered, I can not guarantee that you'll not keep doing this."

Obi-Wan chuckled as Cody groaned into his hands. "At least you'll be able to outrun your batchmates," Obi-Wan offered.

Cody smirked behind his hands.

-----

"Sir."

"Yes, Cody?" Obi-Wan asked, looking over at the man.

"Can you train me to run faster?" Cody questioned.

"You, know, when I said outrun your batchmates, I said it as a joke," Obi-Wan chuckled.

"Fox has won ever since we were fourth cycle cadets," Cody huffed, "I might be able to break that record now."

"Well then," Obi-Wan grinned, clapping his hands, "we can't be having that."

-----

Cody felt like face planting the floor would be a good idea.

"So, you're fast at sprinting but struggle to hold that speed for a longer period," Obi-Wan thought aloud.

"Book would probably be able to rattle off something like Tooka's flexibility makes them fast rather than stamina, or something like that," Cody muttered, heading towards the bench.

"—what?"

"He seems to think I enjoy having my ear rattled off by his talking," Cody sighed.

"And you didn't say otherwise?"

"He's so excited by being able to tell someone what he's learnt," Cody said.

"Some might say your going soft," Obi-Wan chuckled.

"I just want him to enjoy himself while he can," Cody shrugged, "it's rare for a clone to be able to express themselves freely."

"I encourage individualism," Obi-Wan frowned.

"Yes, but you are still the minority," Cody sighed. "But it's too early for this talk; let's focus on the sprinting."

Obi-Wan chuckled.
