I rub my face and sigh as the pain in my heart settles, I jump from bed and throw on a hoodie ,sweat pants and my sneakers. Luca got dressed and we left so we could find out what happened to our patrolman.

Me - patrol
Who the hell is dead? I thought you were all staying in groups of 3?

One after the other they check in, I grab Lucas arm to stop him.

Me- patrol
Ok I need you all to keep an eye out for one of our own, I felt someone die, check in if you find them.

"It's not patrol? Mum, can you track them?"

"Yes I can feel it come on"

She answers with her head in the air walking off towards the woods, Luca takes my hand and squeezes it as we sniff the air for anything unusual.

"We need to contact other packs tomorrow and see if this is happening to them as well, it's getting out of hand"

"I was chatting to Megan earlier. All they have heard is that there is a new band of rogues who have joined together. They call the leader queen of the rogues but they haven't had any trouble with them but we should talk to the others just incase"

Dad answers us, I frown

"So what, basically, they are a pack with no land?"

Dad nods and sighs shaking his head

"Not the good kind either, basically the worst of the worst. they have even started looting so unless it's them but I can't see why they would support one random girl, and they would come in numbers and I don't think they would even bother with this pack, there isn't much for them to steal food wise."

"Yeah honestly they would probably target bigger packs even together ours is small potatoes"

Luca adds, we walk in silence for another while, it was late and we were all exhausted. We had moved training to the ridge and merged the packs to train together, they also patrolled together now too. One from each pack to a 3sum plus 1 gunman. Since we started doing this the attacks had decreased considerably and since dad added the gunman to each pair we hadn't had any more deaths until tonight.

"Over here"

Mum calls and we follow her, I send a link to the pack to prepare for a scream, it shouldn't be too loud , it's just one person.

We trail through the trees and come apun a small cave, the smell of blood was thick in the air. Luca freezes beside me and I look to him as his eyes shoot around the area so I listen to his thoughts

'Do you smell that?'

'It can't be'

Luca
'I'm not sure, it's not the same but it is the same.'

Lopin
'Not as sweet anymore?'

Luca
'Yeah it can't-- is that?-'

Lucas' heart rate spikes and he darts past me, I follow him worried. He's looking towards a hoodie hung on the tree, he doesn't touch it, but he's looking at it like it's about to blow up

'That's where it's coming from, where did they get it?'

Luca
'I don't know, most of her stuff was taken by her parents so maybe from them but why I don't know!'

I walk up to him and take his hand. He looks at me and gives me a small smile.

"It's jennas hoody, I don't understand where they got it?"

Now I freeze and frown, I take it from the branch and smell it and gag

"How can you even smell her through the stench of rogue , it's so strong?"

He takes it and sniffs it and cringes and shivers.

"Is it wrong that even though she smells the same, it's not appealing anymore?"

I shake my head

"Nope, Megan said the same. When you meet your fated everything else is just boring"

"Arthur's wasn't"

He says back to me, I shrug

"Did you love Jenna as much as you loved Arthur or me?"

He swallowed hard and looked to me worried

He sighs and pinces the bridge of his nose, I can see he feels guilty. I squeeze his hand and he shakes his head

"No I didn't, I did love her but nothing compares to us or what we had with Arthur"

'See was that really that hard'

I sniggered and shook my head. He rolled his eyes at his wolf, then he took my hand and kissed it. We followed after mum and dad, they were in the cave, I could hear the echo of their footsteps. I frown, they seem awfully far away.

"Did you know about this place?"

I ask Luca, he shakes his head

"I've seen it before but I never realised how far it went"

We walk in silence and the stench of blood gets stronger, we speed up and come out the other side and I gasp, the body was torn to pieces. He was male and around 30 years old he was a patrol man but he wasn't on duty tonight.

"What the hell was he doing out here?"

I ask no one in particular, mum stands up holding a stick and on the end of it was a pair of girls pants

"More like who was he doing?"

Luca snorts then looks away smiling, we search the area but find no other woman's clothes

"I wonder who owns them?"

Luca says, mum smirks

"Don't know but you got around enough, if there pack you should know"

mum shoves them in his face and he falls over a tree trunks, I can't help but laugh with mum and dad

"Ewe, who knows where they have been or on who"

He shivers and gags

"Well how do we find out who it is?"

Dad asks and mum shoves them in his face, he bats them away with his hand and the stick goes flying out of mum's hand and the stick and pants hit Luca on the face.

I nearly have a heart attack. I laughed so hard, Luca starts to gag and scrubs his face with his shirt, mum looks genuinely guilty but I can't help but snort like a pig at the entire thing. It was brilliant.

"Seriously can you be more careful"

He snaps at mum and she burst out giggling

"Did you at least get a good sniff while they were there"

Dad asks him and Luca starts to gag and again, I have tears streaming down my face and I hold my stomach. I haven't laughed this hard in so long and it feels good. When Luca stops gagging he looks to the sky and scratches the back of his head

"So, I do remember the scent""

I instantly stop laughing and scoff at him, He shivers at the thought. Dad nudges me

"Least his past mistakes come in handy"

I can't help but laugh again, the entire thing was just comical.

"I haven't seen her in years and the last time I did I nearly killed her, she left the pack after she rejected Arthur for having cancer. I can't believe she came back. If anyone is capable of this, it's that psycho bitch"

I frown that was weird

"That's odd, did she know jenna?"

We start to move the body parts into a pile as we talked, he nodded

"Yeah we all went to school together, we all hung out but neither of them were all that fond of Arthur because he was so busy being sick it was inconvenient for them, I actually didn't like Jenna all that much before we found out we were mates because of it, when we found out she would go crazy that I spent so much time with him but we were like brothers and after that bitch rejected him he nearly died between being sick and the pain of rejection, it was almost too much that's when we bought the track. It helped giving him something to look forward to again"

I smiled, I liked hearing stories of their past, I loved talking about Arthur. It almost made my memories of him more alive.

"And did they know amber?"

He nodded

"So maybe that's who's helping amber? And maybe that's who had her hoody"

"Must be"

he answers, He stops and looks the body over, he was in bits so we decided to take him back, each of us took a bit each.

"I'll assign guards to the cave until we can get it filled in"

Luca says, he was holding the torso, while I carried a leg, mum carried the other leg and dad carried the arms and head. When we made it home we wrapped him in a white cloth and informed his family that we needed to talk to them urgently, we showered then waited for them to arrive.

I sat down to drink a cup of coffee as the doorbell buzzed. I sighed and answered it and my breath caught in my throat at the elderly couple on the other side of the door.

"Mr and Mrs Robinson, I'm so sorry to call you at this time of night but we have had an incident-"

"-it's our Tom isn't it? He never came home. He always comes home"

The woman asked me, I gave her a sad smile and nodded. she flew past me and raced over to his body

"Mrs Robinson I wouldn't look at him, it's not a nice sight"

She pauses and turns with a frown

"What happened?"

I sigh and rest on the back of the sofa as Luca comes into the kitchen after his shower, looking all wet and beautiful, I push the thought out for now and look back at the Robinsons

"Well we found him on the other side of a cave that leads to outside the territory, we think he was with Eva Montgomery"

They frowned

"Eva left this pack years ago"

"Yes we are aware, there was some discarded clothing where his body was, but whatever happened it was quite the scene. Do you know if he kept In Touch with Eva?"

His father growls and turns away from us shaking his head

"That girl has always been trouble, we told him to stay clear of her! Did she do this?"

I felt the anger radiating from him, his fists were clenched tightly and his breathing was ragged. I felt so bad for him I wanted to pull him into a hug.

"We don't know for sure, we have the trackers notified so they are going straight there but she was definitely there, do you have any idea where she was staying or who else knows her. Someone that could contact her maybe? But they need to play dumb. Ask to meet up but tell them we have no idea who killed him?"

Luca said to them both coming to my side and pushing some hair from my face then he pulled me into his arms and rested his hairy chin on my shoulder tickling me slightly.

"We will talk to our daughter, I'll have the undertaker come for his body a little later on but for now we need to go. Come on Anne I can't bare the thought of him there"

He grabs Anne's arms and pulls her towards the door. She waves sadly and then they leave.

"I need sleep"

Luca whispers, I smile and we walk to the room in silence. I pull off my bottoms and climb in under the blanket and get cosy on Arthur's pillow, Luca gets in behind me and pulls me to his chest holding me tightly. My body starts to relax and soon darkness takes over.

He pointed to the pile of envelopes in my hand, it was the grand opening of Arthur's poitín pub tomorrow and as he requested we invited all the allie packs to come. It was a large pub but it opened up out the back into a nightclub, it was huge but so cool, I loved it and I couldn't wait to make his dream come true.

I opened the first envelope and read out the names, Jamie had a list to check off so we knew who was coming or not.

"Alpha Deacon is a yes he is coming with 2 friends"

I lifted the next one and opened it to

"Alpha Ali is a yes with 4 friends, Arthur Johnny and his beta David are coming. And alpha Leo is coming with his Luna and alpha Jordan is not coming but his beta Luke and his mate is a yes"

He smiled, checking them off, then scanning his finger down the list.

"If you add those to the list of others basically all his friends are coming, add those to our sister packs and our own packs this place will be crawling in people"

I smile and take a drink, Luca comes in and lifts the pot filling 2 travel mugs and handing me one.

"When we get back we will go over sleeping arrangements"

I groan and roll my eyes, Luca chuckles and shakes his head

"You would honestly make the worst Luna in the world"

Jamie laughs agreeing with him

"That's fine I'll take over as alpha when we merge and you can be my Luna instead"

I snap back at him he just laughs and hands me the cup

"How's about your title says Luna but we hire Jamie to do the Luna stuff so you don't have to"

We laugh and leave the house. We drove to the ridge training area, walking would take 20 minutes, the car only took 5. The place looks amazing. There are new houses built throughout the estate, all with private gardens. We had a bigger shop built with a garage, and even a few small clothing stores.
