Ed's POV :
I woke up to a breeze from the window I opened.
Fresh air.
I'm home.
We're home.I rolled over and in sudden panic I realized that Leylah wasn't in bed with me. I got up immediately and looked down the hall way.
"Leylah!" I semi shouted. No response.
Fuck. Not again, Ed.
I looked on my balcony and down the hall to my kitchen and living room which was empty.
"Dammit!" I slammed my hands on the counter, frustrated that I had probably lost her again. How would I find her now?
"Ed?" I heard slightly muffled. I couldn't distinguish where the sound came from. "Ed!"
Thank God.
"Ley! Where are you?" I was shouting and turning all around, not sure where to find her.
"Oh, I'm in the bathroom love."
What?
I walked down the hallway to the door and opened it.
"Hello?" I asked confused as how the bathroom was empty when I walked in.
"In here Ed." I jumped at the sound. I reached over and pulled open the curtain. And there was the love of my life. Sitting in a tub, hair up in every which way, notebook and pen ready, but headphones around her neck. She held Lloyd, ready to play at any moment.
"You were still asleep. I just grabbed him and found the best place I could think of. Why did I feel a rattling?" she looked at me half confused, other half concerned.
"I-uh- thought I had lost you again" I mumbled, now feeling a bit foolish for getting so upset.
"Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't even think!" she smacked herself in the face and shook her head in her tendency to forget. "My headphones, they were..." she trailed off with her thought. After a few moments she reached her hand up to me, "Here."
I took her hand and she tugged me close to the tub. "It's awesome in here."
"I mean, I don't usually come into the tub to sing" I was thoroughly amused, because, in fact, I could not imagine anyone else doing such a thing.
"Oh it sounds great. Not so much my voice right now cause, you know, almost three weeks without properly using my voice hasn't treated me well."
"It probably sounds amazing and you're just being bashful." I had come down from my rush of panic and adrenaline, and now I was back to my morning state. I leaned my head against the tile wall and closed my eyes, ruffling my hair from my eyes.
She huffed and the chords started playing.
Yeah it's a beautiful night
We're looking for something dumb to do
Hey baby, I think I wanna marry you.She nudged me and I couldn't believe my eyes. She hadn't ever done this before. I was speechless.
She looked out of her peripheral vision at me in a mysterious way.
Is it the look in your eyes
Her eyes closed and she let her head rest against the wall. Her body was moving back and forth.
Or is it this dancing juice
Her attention was now all on me and she turned.
Who cares baby
I think I wanna marry you
