"So..the loud footsteps were you and Sage slipping on books?" Laurence asked hesitantly. He kept his composure whereas Sage had stiffened up at the question and accidentally lost her grip on the map. Laurence thankfully didn't notice but he seemed to be glancing over at her every few moments.
"Yes, nothing to worry about. Now, if you'll excuse us. I have to send off my best friend." Travis said quite quickly, trying his best not to imply suspicion.
"Travis?" Laurence spoke, "It's dark out now, surely you wouldn't want your best friend to get lost or tired on her way back home?" He asked in a patronising tone.

He was right. It was too dark for her to fly back to Enki Island. Sage huffed quietly, standing from her chair and gently putting the map on the desk.

"I can fly in any conditions." She said triumphantly, a confident smile plastered on her cute face. Travis grinned slightly, he knew she would argue about her flying.
"Look," Laurence grabbed her wrist and pulled her further out of the cabin. "It's purely dark, you can barely even see that turtle in the water!" He pointed at a small, rocky island. Sage giggled a little bit, attempting not to laugh at Laurence and make him upset.

"That's uh..that's a small island."

"Oh."

Aphmau's POV

-------------

I was speaking to Vylad about possible routes to the island we could take when I heard giggling, when I turned my head I realised it came from the little fairy girl. I'll have to admit, she was insanely pretty. She seemed shy earlier but as soon as she saw Travis it was as if her confidence instantly boosted.

She gave me a letter earlier as well, from the Elder Pixie. I'm sure if i remember correctly the Elder lived on Enki Island with her Safehold. When I was looking for the Enki Ruins with Travis I stumbled upon the small village-like home and came in contact with the Elder Pixie, Lynphea. The small pixies around the place seemed to know Travis as by the sight of him, they crowded around him whilst letting out joyful cheers and giggles.

"Um..Aphmau?" I heard a voice call to me from my left, it was Vylad. I looked back towards him and nodded.
"You kinda zoned out. It's okay though, I know you want to talk to her. Go meet her formally." He smiled with an encouraging tone to his words. I felt a light nudge on my shoulder and accepted defeat, turning to move towards the captains quarters.

No POV

-------------

Aphmau lightly skipped up the steps before smiling as welcomingly as she could and tapping on the fairy's shoulder. The grey-haired girl jumped slightly at the sudden contact, turning to the source of attention. It was the lady from earlier, smiling in a partially un-comforting way.

"Hello, I'm Aphmau!" She piped out in a nervous tone, her hand was stretched out as if waiting for Sage to shake it. Sage did indeed shake it, a small smile forming as she told the woman her name as well.

The two managed to hit it off whilst the two boys had gone off to navigate the maps. That is of course, until a disturbance in the waves threw the ship off their designated route and a storm began brewing rapidly.

"Aphmau! Watch out!"

~~~~
"Sage, no! It's too dangerous!" Amora yelled, but to no avail, Sage carried on preparing her plan. The girls wings were now drooped and dripping raindrops, giving her no chance of flying like that.
"I can calm the storm Amora!" The girl shouted back, knowing this would be a difficult task. She looked back towards her friend, her head shaking in disapproval and her hair much like her wings. Marina and Laylell had gone to make sure everyone else in the grotto was safe and to keep their supplies tied down. They were unfortunately unaware of Sages plans as of yet.
The pixie managed to shrink into her much smaller form and flew up to the mast of the ship, a light green dust surrounding her soaked body. Her arms spread diagonally to her sides and a cloud of green formed atop each hand, head down and solely focused on containing the violent weather in front of her. The yells of her friend were still deafeningly heard as she held focus, a pleading tone evident with the words spoken.
She felt a grasp of energy, clenching her fists onto it as much as possible. Twisting the will of the energy, fighting for dominance. A small tug, and another. Tug after tug, gaining control of the large wisp until it was fully contained.
The wind began calming and once Sage finally lowered herself to the balcony of an acorn hut she was shaken violently by a-
werewolf?
~~~~

"Sage, wake up!" A concerned voice whisper-yelled. The girl seemed to be awoken by the rapid shaking in her arms, only to soon find out it was someone grabbing her arms and furiously shaking them in hopes to wake her up. That someone, of course, was our beloved Travis.

Sage slowly opened her eyes to see a swarm of people crowding around her. All were wearing worried expressions, adding to the concerned whispers and nervous fidgeting among them.

A lady she recognised as Aphmau seemed to be checking around her head, almost as if in search of injuries. Travis had released his grip by now, helping Sage to a seat after wafting away Aphmau's badgering hands.

"Are you okay?" Laurence questioned as he knelt in front of her, a more worried look plastered on his face compared to the others. The pixie wasn't sure how to respond, she didn't feel hurt in any way, but a sharp but small pain could be felt in her heart. It was almost like a longing feeling, as if there was something she wanted to do but that small pain acted like an invisible wall, preventing her from following through.

She nodded, putting aside the thought train. Aphmau had explained that Sage had accidentally fell against some crates and hit her head whilst pushing Aphmau out of harms way from a strike of lightning. Hence the vigorous checking around Sage's head, Aphmau felt bad that she had been unscathed by danger and Sage had been scraped by it.

If she was honest, she hated everyone protecting her. She didn't believe she was special in any way. Sure, she was a former lord and leader of an alliance, but not everyone had to protect her? Right? The war of thoughts had hit Aphmau like a truck after Sage went to rest, her conscience betrayed her and refused her mind any positivity.
As much as she tried to think of something different, she always traced back to the one question:

Why do I feel like this?

HAPPY FRIDAY MY FRIENDS

Ok! This chapter was a lot longer to make up for the lacking last chapter! I also know there is probably some slight confusion with the plot, but we are in the early stages and therefore we will soon see lots of development!

Again, lots (but not as many) POVs in this chapter. I'm really sorry about that but I'm still figuring out my way of writing :)

Thank you for being patient and as always, please eat something and drink some water. <3
