A grin was plastered on the pair as they walked around Hogsmeade. It had only been a week since the ball but Polaris and James grew very close always hanging out when possible. They'd pair up in class and overall both teens were very happy with each other's presence.

There was nothing better than the gentle cool breeze that Hogsmeade had. It was so calming and soothing as the pair walked around before Polaris remembered the idea she had shared with James a few nights prior when they planned this entire trip in the first place.

They quickly walked into a bookshop close to Honeydukes. Polaris smiled as she pulled James to the back to explain why she had wanted to go to the bookstore of all places so badly.

"Well now that we are here let me explain" Polaris started as James eagerly nodded watching her intently

"We each get three books to read, the first being one that reminds you of me, one that's your personal favorite, and the last one we can pick out together! By the end, we have three books to read in our dorms and we can discuss how we feel about them when we're done reading" Polaris said excitedly making James laugh slightly nodding

"Sounds good love" He replied before walking off into the bookstore on the hunt for different books to find

Polaris walked over to the fantasy aisle imminently and picked out a book called "The Books of Hidden Things", happy with her selection she walked over and grabbed "Coraline" as the next book. She pulled out a piece of parchment she had already written a note on and stuck it in the book before going to find James.

She walked over to see him with two books in his hands looking for her.

"Why are you just staring at me James?" she asked looking up at him confused

"You are so cute" he responded smiling and looking down at her making her blush and scoff

"Shut up Potter" was her only response as she turned away looking for a book for her and James to agree on

He followed her smiling and feeling pleased with how he's been able to openly flirt with her and not get rejected.

"How about this book" Polaris asked holding up a copy of The Hobbit

James nodded and took a copy for himself before grabbing her books and taking them to the front paying for them as she complained.

"I can pay for myself James," she said with a sigh and a slight smile

"Yeah, I know but how am I supposed to be a gentleman and a good future boyfriend if I let you pay for most of your stuff?" he asked making Polaris blush and walk out of the shop quickly James was on her trail as she walked into Honeydukes next.

There was a weird sense of dread that James felt for a moment but he played it off as nerves with flirting with his crush.

"Perfect go get your favorite candy I'm gonna grab some licorice wands," James says walking away as Polaris nods with a smile

She grabbed a chocolate frog and a jar filling it with sherbert lemons. It was a simple treat but something about them where so good she could never get enough. She took a couple of sugar quills before going to pay silently before James could see.

He walked up after paying for his stuff to see she had already paid for hers.

"Oh c'mon" he cried out as they walked out of the store

"Sorry love but I wanted to pay for myself," Polaris said with a shrug making James lose complete focus as she sat on the bench

"Repeat what you called me I like it," he said sitting next to her and making her laugh in confusion

"Love?" she asked curiously while laughing making James look over at her with a huge grin plastered on his face

"Yeah that I liked it and if we were dating I'd so kiss you right now," he said with a wink

"What's to stop you from kissing me right now?" she asked playfully

He started to lean in slowly waiting for Polaris's response. She nodded softly leaning in closer and pressing a gentle kiss to his lips. It was soft and sweet and almost comforting yet there was the feeling that someone was watching them. However, they were at Hogsmeade so someone was bound to see them kissing right now.

They pulled away both blushing making Polaris hide her face on James' chest and pulling him into a hug.

"You are the cutest thing ever," he said hearing Polaris mutter a response.

The two got up and headed back to Hogwarts in time for dinner. They walked into the Great Hall after dropping off their stuff and headed their separate ways.

As Polaris sat down she noticed her family owl come in and drop off a letter for her. She opened it gently assuming it would be about the upcoming New Year's Ball the Sacred 28 would hold.

"Dear Polaris,

We are extremely disappointed in you. We set you up with that nice boy Evan and you betray us with some imbecile. You better be ready to come home soon because we need to talk

-Mother and Father"

Polaris froze and in that moment she knew she was so screwed. She turned to Evan handing him the paper before running out of the Great Hall crying and going to hide in her dorm. How the hell did they find out? Did someone spy on me? Who would rat me out? Why would they rat me out? Many thoughts rushed into her head as she safely ran into her dorm room locking the door and running into the comfort that is her bed. She sobbed into her pillow before falling asleep from the stress and exhaustion of the emotional roller coaster she just went through.
