RWBY : Ruby's Dragon Protector (UP FOR ADOPTION)

Chapter 6

While Salem and her lackeys were discussing their next plan, something was happening on Patch after the fiasco with Jacques Schnee and the Atlesians Soldiers. 

Ruby : (shocked) " ME ?!"

The Dragon nodded his head as he looked at the group of teenagers ( along with Taiyang) who were looking back at him with shock and surprise by the revelation.

Smaug : (calmly ) " Yes...You..."

Many questions passed through the minds of the group but none of them dared to ask the Powerful Being before them. After a moment, one of them , who was none other than Ren, decided to gather all his courage as he took a few steps forward before looking back at Smaug with a neutral expression on his face.

Ren : (calmly) " You said you were 'assigned' to protect Ruby... My question, Great Smaug, is... WHO assigned you ?"

The others quickly lost their shocked look to gaze up at the Dragon with curiosity as they all waited for his answer. Smaug stared back at them with his orange-yellow eyes , staying silent for a moment as he was wondering if he should tell them or not. After a few seconds, the Great Dragon sighed deeply before looking back at the group gathered before him.

Smaug : " I don't know their names but they called themselves the 'Two Brothers'..."

At those words, the group gasped in surprise as their eyes widened in shock. Everyone knew about the story of the Two Deities of Remnant and to learnt that it as THEM who assigned Smaug to protect Ruby... well it was a shock to say the least. Speaking of the youngest girl, she was staring at the large Dragon with wide eyes, unable to say a world. However the short silence was broken by Ruby and Yang's father who took a few steps forward to address the Mighty Dragon

Taiyang : " Great Smaug... Can you tell us why did they assigned you to protect my daughter ?"

Smaug : (nodded) " From what they said, your younger daughter had a rare power... a power coming from her eyes... a power who can destroy Grimm..."

As the Dragon answer Taiyang's question, the teenagers were silent while looking at him with shock and surprise as some of them were seen staring at Ruby Rose who was the most shocked one in the group. But then they quickly looked back at the Dark-red scaled Dragon as he added still in a neutral tone.

Smaug : " The Brothers thought she needed a protector... because , fro what they told me, many people wanted to kill her because of her... ability..."

New shock for the group and Ruby looked horrified that people would KILL her because of her eyes. Yang, seeing her sister's face, instantly pulled her into a comforting embrace which she accepted with a thankful expression. Around the two, everyone was looking at each other with surprise and even Nora, the hyperactive one, was silent as shock was written on fer usual cheerful face.

Suddenly ,Pyrrah stepped forward before looking up at the Mighty Dragon with nothing but pure respect. After all, the last thing she wanted (like many in fact) was to anger him. The souvenir of what he did at Beacon was still fresh and remembering this caused a shiver to go through her body. But still, she managed to hide it as she faced the Powerful Being.

Pyrrha : (respectfully) " Great Smaug... Don't take offense to my question by... Why did the Brothers chose you ?"

Everyone went silent as some silently gasped in horror. Many were thinking that Smaug would take offense of Pyrrha's question but when they looked at the colossal Dragon, he was still calm as he eyed the Red-Head with a deep frown. After a moment of silence, the Mighty Dragon growled softy which caught everyone's attention as they turned their heads to look at him.
