The hour and a half felt like an eternity, the drive from the studio to Anne's house was nothing short of anxiety and nervousness. Harry's leg was bouncing up and down in anticipation as Louis tried to calm him down. Liam and Zayn were on the call with their lawyer, explaining him the situation and asking him to come over as well. Niall was on the phone with Helen, urgently asking her to contact the orphanage for any details about Lydia's parents.

Harry was the first to jump out even before the car came to a full stop as he ran towards the front door, Louis, Liam, Zayn and Niall following close behind. They'd never seen him so scared of anything, he was usually the one cheering and motivating everyone up in any situation or difficulty they faced.

Louis couldn't express the hurt he felt when he saw Harry's anxious and scared face, in all the years they'd been together, this was the first time Harry had broken down in front of him this bad. When he'd started crying in their dressing room after ending Anne's call, Louis had feared the worst, but it was something much more painful than he could imagine. He knew he had to be strong for his Hazza and his daughter, she wasn't now but ever since the night she'd called them dad, Louis knew she'd be theirs.

As they entered the house, Anne and Robin were sitting on the couch across a young couple. Harry's eyes looked around for Lydia, softening and calming down as she ran out from her room and straight into Harry's arms.

"Hey bug" he whispers, his face nuzzled into her hair as he sighed in content. She was here.

"harry.." Anne whispers, rubbing her son's back. Something in her eyes knew and spoke a thousand words. Matt and Helen followed in right after the boys.

Matt and the lawyer went to the couple, ushering them aside to enquire and interrogate them.

"I'm not letting her go" Harry says sternly, Lydia's eyes scared as she looks between him and everyone else.

"Harry it doesn't work that way" Helen warns, she knew how attached they were to Lydia.

"Helen they left her when she needed them the most, they come back right now because they saw her and recognized her with us" Louis adds, stroking Lydia's hair softly.

Anne opens her mouth to speak but Matt's voice interrupted them.

"Guys, they have proof" He says sadly, handing them the birth certificate and hospital receipt.

"This could be utter bullshit" Louis says tossing them aside.

"We know, but until we find out that it is, Lydia needs to stay with them" He says barely above a whisper.

"Absolutely not!" Harry says, his grip on Lydia tightening.

"Hazza...I don't want to go" His body stiffens as her little voice sends shivers down his spine, his heart shattering into a million pieces as he looks down into her eyes with a pained expression.

"No No" A woman's voice makes them all turn around, Louis' fists clenched as she makes her way towards Harry, arms stretched out for Lydia.

Her grip was tight as she practically snatches her from Harry who seemed to be frozen in place. His body shook as Lydia's screams and cries filled the room.

"NO ! NO I DON'T LIKE YOU ! I WANT MY HAZZA AND LOU-LOU" She sobbed, arms and legs kicking around as the man helped the woman hold Lydia tightly.

"HAZZA !! LOU-LOU DON'T LET THEM TAKE ME !! I WANT YOU DADDY" She cries as they walk out of the room.

I was about to race them to the door when I heard her call me "daddy". Matt's hand on my shoulder and his firm grip kept me from running to her like a soldier in artillery fire. I just wanted her close to me, let her call me her dad ll the time.

I looked down, Louis' fingers digging into his palm as the door closed behind her screams as everyone sighed and sat down where they were standing. The air was thick, tears streaming down mine and Louis' face as everyone tried holding theirs in.  Niall rubbed my back as Liam calmed Louis down.

"Mr. Styles, Mr. Tomlinson." My head shot up to the lawyer with an angered look.

"What" I spat glaring at him as Mom shushed me.

"I'm asking my employees to conduct a background check on the couple and their documents, I promise Lydia won't be with them more than a day or two. I know how much she means to you and how much this adoption means to you. We've got a court hearing for the same next week, and she'll be with you before that"

I just nod, head falling between my hands as I sigh loudly. I feel Louis' arms wrap around my waist.

I didn't look up but I heard everyone leaving the room for a while, as I turned around and clung to Louis, crying into his shoulder.

"Shhh sweetheart, we're gonna get her back okay? She's our daughter" He whispers, lifting my face and kissing my forehead.

I nod, hands shaking as I catch my breathe.

"Soon"
