One day after demonstrating a Pokémon performance to Hoenn's Coordinators Serena was standing in a park watching the sunset thinking about Ash and feeling she desperately wanted to go visit him since she's never seen the sea and apparently he's in Alola and its been hell being away from him.
Serena : "I miss Ash so much and I can not go any longer without telling him how I feel."
She stood up raising a hand to the sunset and closing it,she was going to finish up in Hoenn after she's gotten to Ash in Alola because she'd let nothing stand in her way of seeing him again not when her heart aches for him while the two of them are so far apart from each other so she went to pack post haste

Ash
Ash stood outside the shopping center having stuffed himself at a restaurant that was located inside the shopping center and now had a satisfied look on his face which Pikachu mirrored,Ash thought about his Kalos friends and his mind stuck on Serena in particular,he raised his hand to the sun and made a fist.
Ash : "Serena,it has now been almost a year since I last saw her."
Ash found a big smile starting to form on his face thinking about just how wonderful the girl probably still is,he hoped that things have been well for her since the day they'd last parted.

A day later
The plane Serena took from Hoenn the night before landed in
Alola and she smiled when she noticed that and could hardly even contain herself just from once again being in the same region as Ash so she practically skipped out of the plane while humming the song "I Try" which she'd practiced the night before.

Ash was standing with his classmates when suddenly he heard a familiar voice call to him and he looked up in time to see Serena running towards him he couldn't believe his eyes he thought he was daydreaming until she tackled him into a tight hug so he hugged back,after a minute she stepped back.
Serena : Ash I missed ya so much so I thought I'd come to visit you here!
Ash : I missed you too Serena so this sudden visit's awesome I've longed for your company.
Serena : So Ash would you kindly please introduce me to your friends?
Ash : There's Kiawe,Lilli,Sophocles,Mallow and Lana.
Serena : My name's Serena,nice to meet all of you,I'm from
Kalos
Lilli : You're so pretty!
Kiawe : Yeah no kidding
Sophocles : And so friendly.
Lana : You look fashionable.
Mallow : I bet you can bake.
Serena : All your compliments are appreciated you all look like nice enough people.
Ash : Serena you seem like you're ready to burst with excitement so what's up
Serena : Ash I couldn't stay away my heart ached to much so I want to sing something.

Serena : Wow so you have been in love with me too and you couldn't figure that out?
Ash : Yeah I guess I was just so focused on everything else I failed to understand.
Serena : Well that is fine no problem so I want to tell you Ash I love you.
Ash : I'm glad you understand so anyway I also wanna say I love you Serena please be mine.
Serena : Yes I'll be your girlfriend Ash,doubtlessly and
unwaveringly.
Serena and Ash kiss and everyone else applauds
loudly.
