Another self-insert and honestly, I'm pretty happy that it turned out like it did-
Anyways let's start with this chapter, shall we?

"Oh oh oh, to be honest I would rather not talk about it. After I wrote this article, I was just quizzed about it. People don't want anomalies anymore. Not after... oh well.", Toby told us, shaking his head. I was surprised by his punk hairstyle.

"Oh come on, Toby. We're friends, aren't we?", Mabel said with a grin.
Toby scratched his neck. "All right. I will tell you everything I know. But I can't promise that you will be satisfied with that."
We nodded.

"Once again, I was looking for a good story. Since... you know what... happened, there was absolutely nothing to report. The news consisted only of weather reports and some politics stuff. Our station became boring, and nobody read the newspaper anymore. I needed a good article, do you understand me?", he began and shortly waited for us to nod, before he continued.

"And as if I had been heard, all of a sudden the number of reported abnormalities increased again. Maybe my mother was right... Maybe I should play the lottery some more... Anyway, I received a witness report with a photo. With photo, can you believe it?! Of course, I took the chance and wrote an article about it, because of which you are here now."

There was a short silence.
"So... you didn't even witness what happened?", Dipper asked.
"No but I know who did."

We all looked at Toby desperately.

"..."

"GODDAMN, WHO?", Mabel then slammed her fist on the table, making Toby jump.
"AH! Oh geez, calm down!" He cleared his throat. "It was Eleanor Pemdon."

We all shared a look.
"Who?"

"Who the heck is Eleanor Pemdon?", I repeated as we were all back at the Mystery Shack, everyone feeling down.

"Stupid private rights. Who pays attention to them nowadays?", Stanley said, since we told him what happened.
"Any reasonable person, Grunkle Stan.", Dipper said, rolling his eyes.
"Well then you are lucky that I still don't give a damn about the law.", he replied and took a sip of his pit cola.

"I'm concerned that this is not a good thing...", Ford muttered, only for me to hear. I giggled.

"Does Gravity Falls not have a phone book or something?", I then asked out of the blue.
Everyone shut up and turned to face me. For a second, no one said a thing.
"...What?", I then asked.

"I'm really out of practice."
"Why didn't I think of that?"
"Omg!"

I began to laugh at all the responses.
"All right, that should be lying around in the living room somewhere.", Stanley said, while drilling in his ear. He went to get it, as the kids followed him.

I decided to sit down on a kitchen chair, Stanford joining me.
I stretched my arms, groaning.
"Tired already?", Stanford asked me amused.
I grinned. "It was a long day, no?"
He nodded smiling, while facing his hands on the table.

"No wonder. First day here and we're already on a mission.", he chuckled. "I'm just a little disappointed we didn't find what we were looking for."

I reached out my hand to him, making him look up to my eyes again.
"Not yet. Be patient, Ford. We have forever now that I'm finally here."

He smiled warmly. "You're right."

"We got it!!", Mabel yelled sprinting in but then stopped out of nowhere. She held Dipper back from coming in. "Sh, they're having a moment."
