TW/Notes: Mentions of blood and mild language. Also this has implied Tordedd in it.
Tom lived in a little cabin deep into the woods. In walking distance, there were his friends’ cabins. Edd managed to have the biggest one because he used to live around the most amount of trees. Tom, on the other hand, had the smallest cabin out of the four of them. Not that he minded much though, it suited him well. He has his own little space to have comfort in. His cabin consisted of his bed, his beloved Tomee bear he made, a closet, some sewing supplies, and food. It was small but he made due.
Everybody worked together and everybody had their role in each other’s lives and provided something. Edd was the baker and always made the most delicious of cakes. He would call the others over whenever hr made a new recipe. Tord was the hunter, he killed wolves, cows, and even bears. The meat was most commonly eaten when they hung out, which they did so at least once a week. Matt was the gardener, he made the most lovely of flowers. Tom didn’t see much of a point in taking care of plants if not for food, but he had to admit, they did look nice. Tom sewed clothing when requested. If there were no requests, he would most often either try to hang out with the others or make plush toys.
Despite their roles, when they all sat down for a picnic one spring afternoon, everybody seemed to focus on one topic.
Edd sat down on the baby blue blanket and put down the picnic basket. “I hope you guys like cake!” He pulled out 5 cakes, varying in color and taste.
Matt smiled and happily took a bite out of a strawberry one. Tom was walking boredly when he saw the two of them. He smiled and sat next to them. Edd was wearing a simple green apron and Matt was wearing one of the many outfits Tom had made for him. Matt was always requesting different outfits for one reason or another. However today, he wore a long-sleeved frilly white shirt underneath a brown dress. He also held a parasol that was green like a frog, despite the fact it wasn’t raining. Tom himself just wore his blue hoodie, even if it was a bit hot out.
Matt looked around at the two of them. “Where’s Tord? I thought we told him to come here last time…”
Tom and Edd both shrugged. Tom leaned against a tree, it was kinda nice to not have him around for once. He didn’t hate him, but he found him rather annoying. Especially when he heard gunshots deep into the evening. He leaned against the tree as he ate one of Edd’s lemon cakes.
“This is great, so what have you been up to?”
Matt spoke up first, he was always a chatterbox. “Well, I’ve just been doing the usual. Luckily, I haven’t seen any pests on my beautiful flowers.” He said like it was a badge of honor when it was the bare minimum.
Edd got out the tea set and poured royal milk tea into their teacups. ‘That’s good. In terms of baking, it’s been rather mundane. But, Matt, when I went to see your flowers…I saw a little thing with wings…”
“It was probably a butterfly or a bee. Either is usually pretty harmless.” Matt stated as he siped his sweet tea.
“No…it looked like…a little human.” He replied as he ate one of his carrot cakes.
“...” Matt’s tea almost jumped out of his teacup. He resettled himself, placing the purple teacup down on the blanket. He had a big, dopey grin that could make anybody blind.
“Yes, it looked like a fairy.”
Tom had no idea what they were talking about, not that he cared very much. He just ate his cake, That was one benefit that came from being friends with somebody like Edd.
Matt squealed. “I always wanted to catch a fairy!”
“What’s a fairy?” Tom asked blankly.
Edd smiled. “C’mon, you oughtta heard of them! It’s common folklore.”
