It killed me to leave her like that, I knew that it would have been best. She's irrational, she could mess everything up, or worse get killed.

These are the thoughts I told myself as I walked through the streets of the abandoned town. It was saddening seeing everything go to waist, the life we once knew, gone, all of it. Family and friends.

I decided to make a stop to see what all I can scavenge, see if there was any clues to finding the girl. After making a quick stop by the house that she stayed at, the house where y/n cried for her sister; I went to a small glass station father down the road. The aroma of the undead filled the air, lifeless bodies laying about to rot in the hot sun, I scrunched my nose to the unpleasant smell before walking in quietly.
I scattered to find anything, food, water, anything. I found a case of water which had already been torn into, I grabbed the last two before continuing my search shortly coming across a small bag of goldfish. I smiled as I felt it was my lucky day. Taking a seat on the counter cracking them open and enjoying the flavor. As I enjoyed my small snack I heard something clatter and echo through the building.

I quickly and quietly made my way to the noise with my weapon at hand ready to make a kill. The only thing that could be heard was the sound of my foot steps and my sharp breaths.

I quickly turned the corner to see a hammer ready to smack the shit out of me with a young boy holding it ready to fight to survive. "Eugene." I whispered under my breath.

He looked frightened at first before bugging me. When he pulled away I noticed blood dripping down his face. "What happened?" I asked him making him put his hand on the wound hissing at the pain.

"Lawrence," he whispered before continuing. "He had a girl with him when we crossed paths here. Once we agreed to survive together I gathered my stuff and before I knew it everything went black. I woke up not to long ago to see everything was gone," he said looking down at the grown.

We sat there in the floor as I did my best to bandage him up with what I had. "Do you know where he could've gone?" I asked as he looked at me questioningly. "I'm looking for the girl he had with him, I know her sister," I continued.

"A camp." His whisper was unsure before proceeding, "the girl mentioned a camp, he told me about it but I'm assuming he thought I'd be dead before waking up from the wound," he sighed gesturing to his head. I simply scuffed at the ignorance that Lawrence has showed, everyone knows you never leave a victim alive; you always make sure they'll never get back up.

I quickly jumped to my feet grabbing a note book and a pin from the shelves, grabbing our things as he sat there confused. "Y/n," I said grabbing his hand and pulling him to his feet. "She'll come looking for me, I'm going to leave her notes so she knows where to look." I smiled at him as he rolled his eyes "I almost got killed and know we're going to my killer?"

I simply laughed at his silly statement.
