Okkotsu did as he was told and searched all the floors on his assigned part of the building. It was when he didn't find anything that he felt a bit more nervous about the situation. Multiple 'what if' questions ran through his mind all at once.

What if he missed it and it was currently creeping behind him? He turned around and glanced just in case.

What if Amaya encountered the curse and killed it already? He checked his phone to see if there were any calls or missed messages.

What if Amaya got hurt? He swallowed the build-up of saliva in his throat.

"I guess I'll go," Okkotsu shakily spoke to himself.

However, it was easier said than done. Although the boy steeled himself in preparation of facing an enemy, he couldn't move his feet. He was nervous. No, beyond nervous. But even as he shook, he entered the other building.

"A-Amaya-san?" he meekly called, but he received no verbal response.

Instead, Okkotsu felt the floor shake slightly.

His feet simply took control at that moment, though his mind was still in a state of frenzy. The black-haired boy carried himself up the stairs in a hurry, finding himself even tired after just going up a single floor.

Okkotsu briefly searched each floor, and it was when he reached the last that he took a moment to catch his breath. He gulped before he searched around.

'It's okay. It's okay. It's okay-'

He noticed a couple drops of blood on the ground when he passed through a certain door. Okkotsu knelt down to take a closer look and noticed the shine it had, meaning that it was fairly fresh.

The boy froze when he could faintly hear a call for his name, "Okkotsu!"

His head spun when he realized that he may be too late, but he still pushed on. His hands shook as he jogged closer to the sound of water being poured, almost like a bath was running.

Okkotsu didn't believe the sight in front of him as he stepped through the hole in the wall. In, what was like a tank, was Amaya, chained up and unable to escape.

He could see the defeated look on her face as she watched the water rise from two pipes pouring the liquid. Okkotsu wanted to know how this could even happen, but then he realized that even Amaya happened to be outdone by the cursed spirit.

Amaya once told Okkotsu, that in theory, a sorcerer should be on the same level as a cursed spirit on the level above. A grade two sorcerer like her should be able to defeat a grade two, making her on par with a grade one.

Only if he knew that it wasn't a cursed spirit who trapped her.

"Amaya-san!" his and met the transparent wall between them.
