Chapter 3

"So far the only applicants that caught my eye are those two. The black haired boy with the four leaf grimoire and that short boy in a cloak" Fuegoleon said as he referred to the two figures on the corner.

"I can feel their powerful magic from up here" Charlotte added.

"Between those two the boy in the cloak has more magic though I can feel that he's suppressing it" William.

"His eyes. I've seen it before. The jewel blue eyes that represents the blood of a royalty in a certain empire" Yami suddenly butted in causing the others to look at him.

"I've never heard of it from the other kingdoms before" Jack retorted.

"That's because it's from the other continent across the sea. The Obelian Empire ruled by the Obelian family. I heard that it was going on chaos recently. That boy must be a member of the royal family and was sent here to seek help" He explained as he blew off the smoke from his cigarette and stared at the cloaked figure. "They said that the Emperor suddenly caused mischief across the empire and the neighboring nations. He must be an imposter who's a fool to pick a fight with that royal family" Yami muttered the last sentence.

"The neighboring continent huh? They have lesser people with magic there right" Gueldre.

"They are but have much more superior abilities from here. They have ways to enter the sacred realm where the world tree is."

"world tree? The tree that can give enormous power with just a single contact with it?"

"They must be blessed"

A girl with twin braided violet hair came to Ambrose. She wore a fancy dress with accessories. A noble. "Hey you. I want you to be my opponent. I don't know why are you wearing a cloak but whoever you are I am superior than you. I'm Serena Viltre from the house of Viltre" and she proceeds to rant about her status.

Ambrose only nodded as he went to the center of the whatever it's called. "The next battle shall beggining!" The noble girl jumped away before opening her grimoire and casted a water spell.

"Siren magic: water prison pillar"

A big pillar of water engulfed Ambrose trapping him inside. He didn't bulge and just opened his grimoire.

Thirteen diamond keys floated around Ambrose in a circular way. He put his hand forward and picked a key with the zodiac sign of Aquarius.

"Celestial magic: zodiac gate; Aquarius open"

The pillar disappeared revealing a beautiful blue haired girl with a golden jar of water standing in front of the cloaked figure with an opened grimoire and floating keys circulating on him.

"What the hell was that?"

"A summoning magic?"

"What are those keys?"

People started to murmur around. The squad captains along with their companions were surprised since they never heard of Celestial magic before.

"Defeat her" Ambrose commanded with his soft melodic voice.

"Roger"

Aqua beat the girl in an instant and unsummoned herself. The keys went back to his grimoire and he closed it before putting it back on his waist.

"No. 63 is out!  No. 166 is the Victor!" the man announced. Ambrose went to the corner again. He didn't want to talk to rude people and people who only wants his attention.

"Hey! That was amazing what magic did you use? What's your name? Why are you in a cloak?" At suddenly popped out of nowhere and asked him tons of question once Yuno's fight was over.

"U-uhm... My name is Ambrose Lucille a-and my magic was called Celestial magic because I can summon the thirteen Z-zodiacs and borrow their magic. I'm wearing a cloak because I don't like being in crowded places" He answered with a low voice.

"Hehhh~ what a cool magic. My name is Asta by the way so your shy? Hey want to be friends?" The two have a flowery aura around them despite the other boy is covered with a cloak. Yuno is not too far from them silently listening.

"S-sure! I always want to have a friend since my Father and older sister doesn't want me out of their sight. I'm sure we'll be in the s-same squad" Ambrose whispered the last sentence only Asta heard it.

"Eh? How can you be so sure?" He asked while tilting his head. K-kawaii!

"W-well I can tell that the Captain of black bulls have an eye on you because of your anti-magic ability I heard he doesn't take no as an answer and I'm also planning to join them because they sound so fun" He gently explained.

"That scary guy?"

"Hummu"

They chatted for a bit and when it's time for the selection Yuno got in the Golden Dawn squad and just like Ambrose said Asta was picked up by Yami. Ambrose stepped forward when his number was called.

"No. 166 step forward"

"Hai"

Captain Fuegoleon raised his hand along with William and Charlotte, soon the other captains raised their hand and surprisingly Yami Sukehiro also joined.

"I choose Black Bulls"
