cover tutorial

for @regulus-a-black !!

so this is basically what i did to make my icons shop cover:

1. you would need ibis paint for this (but im sure other editers would work just fine).

2. choose the cover dimensions 512x800 and create new project.

3. import the pictures you want to use.

4. remove the background of the pictures.

5. arrange them on the cover however you like.

6. take a solid color or background and expand it so it covers the whole page, make sure the pictures layer is on top of the background layer so they show.

7. now you can add overlay textures. for my icons shop cover i used the folded paper overlay.

8. spread it onto the whole background layer, again make sure the sequence of the layers is like this: background layer (below texture layer), texture layer (below pictures layer), picture layer.

9. now change the blending mode of the texture layer to 'screen', you can see its sort of transparent now and its blending into the background layer.

10. now choose the text tool and add text. the font i used is 'unifracttur maguntia'.

11. once you've applied the text you can warp it if you like but make sure the text layer is on top of the pictures later.

12. to warp the text choose the transform tool while the text layer is selected. choose the 'mesh form' option and warp it to your liking. 

13. lastly, you can add another texture layer on top of everything. set the blending mode of the new texture to 'add' or whatever suits your cover best. 

14. this is basically an additional step. you can also add a border with the frame divider tool. just choose the tool and click where you want to insert a border. change the width, height and color to your liking and you're good to go!
