Your red swimsuit was on along with your matching shorts, your sunglasses were resting on your head, and your whistle was around your neck.

What were you forgetting?

Sunscreen, of course! You can't even imagine how burnt you would've been if you sat in the sun all day without it.

You walked over to your station and found multiple SPF options so you picked the highest one you could find since it was over 100 degrees out today.

You had no problem covering the easier areas, like your face, arms, and legs but you couldn't reach your back. It felt weird to ask one of your co-workers to help your since you didn't know them that well yet. And the last thing you would do would be to ask the strangers that were at the club today to help put sunscreen on a random teenage girl's back.

Fuck, you'll  just have to do it yourself then.

You started to open the bottle when you noticed a snicker come from behind you. You turned to find a hard chest already in front of you, causing you to jump at the close contact.

"I didn't scare you, did I? I'm sorry." The voice said sarcastically, pretending like it genuinely cared about scaring you.

"Fuck Johnny. You know, I'm seriously going to punch you one of these days if you keep pulling that shit." You slowed your breathing down while you glanced up at his face for the first time this conversation.

He was already looking down at you when you glanced those pretty little eyes up his way. He would never get over the innocent and worried expression they casted whenever you felt nervous. Your freckles stood out on your face even more this time of year. He could see the slight sunburn on the top of your shoulders and the fact that your suit straps were twisted.

You felt him bring his fingers up to your shoulders to fix your straps and your skin immediately burned at the contact. His fingers were soft and gentle, careful not to disrupt the burn that was already there.

"Did you need help reaching your back? You know, I'm the very best at applying sunscreen, if you couldn't tell." Johnny asked, pointing down to his extremely tanned and toned chest. He didn't work this hard on his abs for nothing.

You rolled your eyes as you pushed him back and started to walk away. You didn't get far before you heard him run back up beside you.

"You're so full of yourself it's embarrassing and unattractive." You said as you found your seat under the umbrella and picked up your book. You were definitely lying about the last part.

"Oh princess, you love it. You can touch them anytime, and I'll even let you do it free of charge." Johnny winked before he went to find a lounge chair, which was coincidently right across the pool from yours.

The problem was Johnny is your best friend and you have a massive crush on him. And him calling you the childhood nickname he gave you did not help in the slightest. The both of you met during elementary school and from then on, you were inseparable. Your parents would even get tired with how much you hung out with each other. Once you reached high school, he finally introduced you to the Cobras and you all clicked right away. They treated you like a little sister and were very protective over you. You couldn't imagine your life without the boys, especially Johnny. He's been there for you post breakups and you helped him get through his breakup with Ali.
