Set the Scene: You and your long-time boyfriend, Johnny, go on another one of your weekly dates. However, this date is quite different from all the other ones.

His punches were weak, his stance was incorrect, and his mind was far from him.

Ever since Johnny woke up this morning, he knew he would have a hard time going about his day normally. Tonight, you and him would be going on a date to Golf N' Stuff. Of course, the two of you have been on plenty of dates, specifically at least once a week with both of your busy schedules keeping you from one another. Romantic dinners, the beach, and drive-in movies were the go-tos until Johnny implemented lots of late night bedroom dates.

However, he knew this date would be different, feel different, since he had something to tell you. His mind has been running a million miles per minute about how this night would go and how you would react.

Johnny snapped out of his 'what if' thoughts when he felt a hand grab his shoulder.

"You alright, man? Sensei said practice is over." Bobby asked, now swinging his arm over his friend's shoulder.

Johnny turned to Bobby before letting out a long sigh of defeat. "I don't think I'm ready to do it yet. What if she freaks out and breaks up-"

Dutch punched Johnny's other shoulder, hoping to finally knock some sense into him. "Dude, you two have been dating for how long? Just get it over with already. I thought you would pull the band-aid off a long time ago."

The boys walked into the locker room, leaving their friend in the middle of the dojo, completely and utterly uncertain.

Looking in the mirror one last time, you stood back to take yourself in. You were always excited when it was time for you and Johnny's weekly initiated date. Even though you have been dating for almost a year, the nerves kicked in every time you saw him. You just couldn't wrap your head around the fact that you were dating the Johnny Lawrence. Of course, you've been crushing on him from the very first time you saw him in the halls. Never would you have thought he would go for someone like you, nor would you even last this long.

But you couldn't help but notice this time Johnny actually called to ask you out. You both already knew today was considered a 'date day', so when he phoned you this morning, you were slightly confused.

You rolled over to face your nightstand, letting the phone ring a few times before peeking one eye out to look at the clock.

8:46 am

"Who could be calling this early on a Saturday?" You mumbled to yourself before picking up the phone. "Hello?"

"Hey, sorry, did I wake you?" Johnny's voice could be heard from the other side, sounding a bit anxious.

You sat up on your elbows, letting out a yawn before sleepily responding. "Mhm, yeah, but it's okay. Shouldn't you be at morning practice?"

You could hear a light laugh before he spoke again. "Yeah, I'm about to leave the house now. I just wanted to ask if you would go on a date with me tonight?"

Hearing that, you sat up fully, resting your back against the headboard. "Uh, of course. I thought we already knew the weekends were our date days? Are you feeling okay?"
