Set the Scene: Johnny starts acting strange in class, clearly something is bothering him. So when the bell rings, you don't stop until you find out what's wrong.

*warning* Some swear/mature words? Fluff. Soft and sweet friendship...maybe more? No hate towards Daniel, we love him too. Super short (I just wanted to get something out there!)

*p.s.* Slow updates from now on, unless I'm particularly more motivated soon! Thank you for reading!

"Mr. Lawrence?" The teacher asked again.

You looked over at Johnny to find his eyes glued to a random spot on the wall, too deep in thought to hear his name being called for a third time.

He snapped out of his daze when he heard murmuring and small giggles from the class. "What? Sorry."

The teacher was at the board, holding her hand up to a question. "What is the answer to number six?" She asked, peering upon the boy in his shades.

Johnny glanced over at you next to him, expecting someone to help him out of this one.

Rolling your eyes, you slid your paper to the edge of the desk to where he could see it clearly.

"X = 24.7" He read off, silently thanking his best friend for saving him.

The teacher sighed and wrote the answer up on the board. She continued talking but you were too concerned with Johnny who looked like he might run out of the classroom at any second. Anxiety rolled off of him as his knee started to bounce. You were about to place your hand on top of his when the bell interrupted your chance.

Johnny didn't waste another second in his seat as he bolted towards the door. All he wanted to do was go to practice and get his anger out. He paced to his locker, not caring if he bumped into other people and aggressively put in the combination.

You walked out behind Johnny but he was too fast for you to keep up. Once you turned the corner, you saw him at his locker, shoving textbooks inside. When you saw him this morning, you didn't even have the time to ask why he was wearing shades on a cloudy day.

Coming up to him, you peeked over the side of his locker. Hoping to get him to react calmly, you spoke in a softer voice. "Johnny, are you okay? You can talk to me, you know." You kept your eyes on his covered ones, hoping he would hear your truthful tone.

Johnny sighed and looked down before glancing over to you. Your face was so full of concern and fear that it made him uneasy. He didn't want you to keep worrying about him and his problems at home or at the dojo. He especially didn't want to look weak in front of you. It was his job to protect and comfort you, not the other way around. You were far too good for him and he reminded you of that everyday. What kept you around he had no idea, but he was sure that he could confide in you with anything.

Deciding to let you in, he lowered his shades down far enough until it showed his raging black eye.

You immediately reached your hands up to his face and turned his chin so you could see the bruise better. The words weren't coming out of your mouth at first, your mind was too busy making up the many scenarios that could've taken place to cause this.

"J, what happened? Was it at home?" The black and blue surrounding his eye was only getting deeper and looked like it hurt. A lot.

You carefully lifted a finger to delicately touch the outside of his bruise until Johnny flinched his head back.

"Ow, fuck, be care-"

"Oh shit, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" You both spoke over each other, causing him to pull his shades back up and you to pull your hands back to your sides again.
