Chapter 4: Paranormalities
The next night, the four humans and Mangle sat in the guard room of Freddy's. The clock had just struck twelve, and the moon shining through the doors at the far end of the hallway was gorgeous.
"So," Orion began, sitting on the desk. "What's the plan, Mike?"
"You and I go down to the bunker." Mike nodded. "Mindy. You, Mangle, and Jeremy stay here. I can't take any chances tonight."
"Taking a trip to the basement is a chance enough." Mindy retorted. "You're gonna get yourselves killed. You should let me do it."
"Mangle will develop anxiety if you're not here for him." Jeremy pointed out innocently.
“Is that even possible?” Mindy asked, irritated.
Mangle gave her his best puppy-dog eyes.
Mindy growled. "Fine. I'll stay here." Mangle yipped happily.
"In that case, I suppose now would be the best time to leave." Orion glanced at the clock, anxious to leave the others behind and talk to Mike in private.
"Be safe. I'll put holy water around the door frames and in the hallways to make sure you return in good health." Jeremy produced a small bottle from behind his back.
"Alrighty, then, we'll see you later." Mike waved before exiting, a nervous-looking Orion following closely behind.
"M-Mike?" Orion took a deep breath and asked.
"What's up? You look a little stressed." Mike pointed out. He was right. Poor Orion was a nervous wreck.
"I am. You see, there's something I've been meaning to ask you for a while." Orion blurted. Mike's breath hitched and he stopped.
"W-what is it?" Mike's face became as pale as polished limestone.
"I..." Orion took a deep breath. "Mike, I think I'm-"
Suddenly, from down the hallway, a loud crashing noise echoed.
"Oh no." Orion became pale as well, and not for the same reason as Mike had.
"What? Who did- Orion!" Mike gasped as Orion urgently pulled Mike behind the curtains of Pirate's Cove.
"Ssh." Orion put a finger to his lips. "We're safe here."
