Chapter 5:

Chapter 5: She is Here

"Makka-chan?!" Mike fell to his knees. "You are back..."

 

The ghost, whatever it was, did not respond. Instead, it appeared to float into the room on a small cloud of black mist.

 

"So," The apparition spoke quietly. "I see you have not heeded my warnings."

 

"Forgive us!" Mike begged. "We did not know-!"

 

"Did not know what?!" The ghost bellowed. "Did now know that the mother of all evil is within a mile of you right now, and that your death is to be on her bloodied hands tonight?!"

 

"Who is this 'mother of all evil'?" Jeremy asked.

 

"悪魔のマスター." Said Miku.

 

"Who?" Orion turned to look at Mike. "Wait." His face paled. "Don't tell me..."

 

"Master of the Demons." Mike stood up bravely. "She really is here."

"Of course." Miku tossed her night-black hair over her shoulders. "She's been here ever since I found the way to escape going to Hell. I was the one who told you about her, not Foxy. He wouldn'tve known a thing about her, if it wasn't for I who restored his memories."

 

"Restored...?" Mike whispered. "Does that mean...?"

 

"I help people remember." Miku smiled a little. "After all the crimes I have committed, I've made a real point in helping others. Without me, Mike, you wouldn't know what it was like to love again. Orion, Mindy, I am the one who helped you remember what the life beyond this place is like."

 

"Incredible." Jeremy marveled.

 

"Not at all." Miku replied humbly. She looked at the wall. "Ah, that bell. I thought myself it was six o'clock when it rang, too, but the darn thing must be slightly out of whack." She shook her head. "Well, whatever happens happens." She looked Mike in the eye. "I will be leaving now. Beware of the one who looks like me." With that, nothing but most could be seen of her as she faded away.

 

"I wonder what that was about." Orion sat back down on the couch at the back of the room.

 

"I thought the same thing." Mindy agreed. She looked at the power levels again. "OI! That blanged child, I swear she must be a Marlon in herself! Lookit, the power's gone down by ten! How else d'ya explain that, other than the fact that she stole our power!"

 

Mike shook his head. "You haven't noticed? That fan takes power, too." He pointed to a fan on the desk, which currently looked like it was about to try and eat Mindy's skirt.

 

Mindy scooted to the other end of the desk. "Everything's a pervert, isn't it?"
