3 months later....

After staying at April's farmhouse for recovery, the Turtles, April, and Casey have finally returned to New York. They managed to find Splinter and restored his memory. Donatello made retro-mutagen in order to hopefully cure Karai, but that was not successful, for she was a special mutant. The Turtles had no choice but to say goodbye to her, but Leonardo still had hope that there would be some way they could still help her.

(Now)

In a pizza parlor, their temporary home, Michelangelo hums as he puts various things together in a beaker, wearing goggles over his eyes. He picks up a glowing mixture he made. "Hmm, I do believe this plutonium should react flawlessly with the sodium bicarbonates," he says before turning to his pet. "What do you think, Professor Ice Cream Kitty?" The mutant cat meows in response, wearing goggles as well. "Then perhaps we should add this hyperbole solution to Donnie's retro-mutagen."

Donatello walks into the room, rubs his eyes and takes notice on what his brother was doing. "Mikey, HAVE YOU LOST YOUR SHELL?!" he shouts. "Pishposh and tut-tut, my good man!" his brother says.

"I've been brewing that retro-mutagen for months!" Donatello snaps. "Oh, if you've ruined it, I swear I'll-" "Hold on, dude," the orange masked turtle says, about to pour his plutonium. "I got this." Donatello tries to stop him, but a drop of the plutonium fell into the retro-mutagen. It bubbles for a moment before going still. "Phew."

Suddenly, steam came out from the mixture and it started to glow. "Oh no, Mikey!" A blast sends both of the Turtles and Ice Cream Kitty back into a wall. "It's gonna explode!" Donatello shouts, holding on to his brother. They cling to each other, waiting for the explosion, only for it to stop as if nothing happened. "Aw well, that was weak," Michelangelo says. Donatello growls and angrily tackles his brother.

"Now you listen to me!" "No, you listen to me!" The two brothers continue to fight. "I am going to teach you such a lesson!" Donatello yells, but before he could finish, Splinter hits both of them in their pressure points, stopping them from fighting. "What is going on here?" he demands. April walks into the room to see what the commotion is about, and notices that the retro-mutagen was sparkling. "Since when did retro-mutagen start doing that?" she asks.

(Moments later)

Donatello scans the mutant cells, studying the effects with a sample of the retro-mutagen. "Wow! Its bonding rate is phenomenal," he says, impressed. "Haha, I can't believe it! This will save me months of lab work! Okay, let me see." He picks up the slide the sample was on and sucks it up with a dropper. "One small drop... and I'm able to transform an entire vial of mutagen into retro-mutagen! Mikey, you're amazing!"

"I know," Michelangelo responds, hitting an action figure with a pizza. "Wow, did we step into some kind of alternate dimension here?" Raphael asks. "Okay, what chemicals did you use to help create the rapid cellular bonding?" Donatello inquires. Michelangelo thinks for a moment. "Uh, I think I added a bunch of stuff like uranate, anolite, uh, moronic acid, and some, uh, garlic-cappuccino pizza?" he says, holding a slice out. Raphael sighs. "Nope, same dimension."

"Are you kidding me?" Donatello asks. "You do ONE awesome thing, and you can't even remember how you did it?!" "Donatello, be glad that Michelangelo's tomfoolery yielded the gift that it did," Splinter says, looking at the window. "Focus on the goal at hand. You must find all of the transformed people of New York and change them back." "But, Sensei, we don't even know what happened to them," Leonardo points out.
