                                         Chapter 5
                                       Gang Leader

Richard looked through the file of the guy they had caught yesterday, looking through his criminal record. The guy had gotten himself into some sort of gang, but the group wanted to see if he had it in him to take down some kind of authority. The gang had secretly hoped he'd get caught, and if he didn't, they'd take him down themselves. Of course, they didn't expect the guy to out them. Now it was just the process of trying to find and catch the gang. This could be a bit difficult, but hopefully with Gavin and Hank, it won't be that hard. These androids are starting to grow on Richard. Gavin leaned against the desk, his LED yellow as he walked around in his Zen Garden, looking at the information that had been given to him. Richard looked over at Gavin, noticing his eyes were closed and his LED was yellow. He nudged him slightly. "Hey, Gavin." He spoke. Gavin still not responding. Richard looked at him confused. Connor and Hank had noticed before deciding to walk over to them. Richard noticed them before looking back at Gavin. "What is he doing?" He asked, looking at Connor. "He's in his Zen Garden. Most likely looking through information he has on the case." Connor responded. Richard looked at Gavin again. He leaned back in his chair, watching Gavin. Gavin eventually opened his eyes, and noticed Richard. "Welcome back." Richard said, looking away from Gavin finally. Gavin ignored him, noticing Connor and Hank. "Do you two have any ideas on how to find these guys?" Connor asked. Richard shook his head. "I don't, unfortunately." He said as he clicked off the file on his computer. "I don't know how to catch them, but I did discover something that might be useful." Gavin responded. "Talk about it in the breakroom." Richard said before standing up and grabbing his phone. The three watched him walk off to the breakroom. Connor and Hank started following, Gavin watching a bit longer before finally following them. Richard started pouring coffee into his mug as the others entered. Gavin stood by the table, Connor pulling a chair over to the table and sitting on it. As Richard walked back to the table, Gavin started to explain the information he had gotten. "Going by everything the guy had said, the leader of the gang is a girl. While I was searching for possible suspects, I found this girl named Addyson Flowers." He began, the others listening. Connor and Hank watched him while he explained while Richard scrolled on his phone. "She's 23 and has a criminal record of robbery, selling drugs, and drinking while driving." Gavin continued. "Jesus." Richard scoffed. "She's 23?" He asked, Gavin nodding. "How long has she had that recorded?" Richard asked. "One of them has been since she was a teenager, and the other two are from two years ago." Gavin answered. Richard went back to looking at his phone, sipping his coffee. Hank walked over to Gavin, putting his hand out for Gavin to take, asking him to transfer the rest of the information to him. Gavin took his hand, the synthetic skin slowly fading from their arms. Richard watched a bit before looking away. "That's fucking weird." He spoke, Connor chuckling. "You'll get used to it." He responded. "I've had to deal with Gavin for five days now, I don't think I'm going to get used to all this." Richard said, sipping his coffee again. "I know it's a bit difficult, but you will." Connor spoke, trying to reassure Richard. "Whatever you say." Richard responded. "She's not doing so well financially." Hank said as he looked through the information. Gavin leaned on the table. Richard and Connor looked back over at the two androids, curious. "So, we're going to be looking for her, I assume?" Connor asked. "She seems to be the main suspect with her criminal history." Hank responded. "Me and Gavin can go on a patrol, you two can stay here and do a bit more research." Richard suggested. "Sounds like a good plan to me." Connor responded. "We just need to ask her a few questions until we're sure if it's her or not." Richard said, looking back at his phone. "I'll continue to check for other suspects." Hank spoke, moving back over to Connor. Gavin scooted a bit closer to Richard once Hank moved. "Can you give me a description of her so I know who exactly I'm looking for?" Richard asked, looking at Gavin. Gavin stood up. "I'll be right back." He said before walking off to grab a tablet. Richard and the others waited while talking about the girl and the gang she could possibly be the leader of. Once Gavin returned with the tablet, he handed Richard the tablet, showing the girl to him. The girl had black, wavy hair that reached just below her shoulders. She had brown eyes and was 5'0 tall. Connor peeked over Richard's shoulder, looking at the girl. They talked about the girl for a bit longer before agreeing to get ready to go look for her. Connor and Hank walked back to their desk, while Richard and Gavin went to their own desk.

Richard and Gavin walked along the streets, keeping an eye out for the girl. Richard grabbed his cigarette pack, grabbing one and lighting it. He stood next to a street lamp, blowing smoke into the air. "This job is going to be the death of me." He sighed. Gavin stood beside him. "Maybe you just need a vacation." He said, looking up at the street lamp. He moved away from Richard, backing up a bit. Richard watched Gavin, curious about what he was doing. Gavin ran towards the lamp before jumping, climbing the rest of the way up the lamp. He crouched on it, seeming to balance with ease. Richard looked at him, shocked. "How the fuck do you do that shit?" He asked. Gavin shrugged, not really having an answer. "It's simple, for me, I guess. I just kind of jump." He said, trying to explain it. Richard looked away, puffing on his cigarette. "You think you could balance on my shoulders like that?" He joked, blowing smoke into the air. "Probably." Gavin responded. "Want to test it?" He smiled, looking at Richard. "No, I don't." Richard said, glaring at Gavin. "Come on! It'll be fun!" Gavin said, looking at Richard. "Gavin, no." Richard said. "Gavin yes!" Gavin responded, standing up and hopping off the lamp. "Gavin, I swear to God!" Richard said, tensing up a bit. "Just this once?" Gavin asked. "Gavin, that is the loudest way to say you're a fucking deviant, no!" Richard scolded him. Gavin rolled his eyes. "You're no fun." He pouted. "Too bad." Richard said. Gavin leaned against the lamp, watching the cars and people walk by. "You suck at pretending to be a machine, you know?" Richard said, blowing smoke into the air. "And you just suck." Gavin responded, still pouting. Richard looked at Gavin. "Gav, I'm just trying to protect you." He said. "I didn't know protecting me meant I couldn't have fun." Gavin responded, looking away from Richard. Richard sighed. "I'm sorry, Gav." He said, not really knowing what else to say. "If everyone was deviant, this wouldn't be a problem." Gavin said, looking over at an android following some guy. Richard looked at what Gavin was looking at before looking at the ground. "Also don't call me that." Gavin said. "What?" Richard asked, looking at him. "Don't call me Gav." Gavin answered. "Wait, why?" Richard asked, confused. "I just don't want you to call me that." Gavin said. "Okay." Richard responded, looking away again. Gavin couldn't feel pain like how humans did, but some kind of painful guilt slowly built in him. His LED swirled to red, starting to flash. "Sorry." Gavin mumbled. Richard looked at him. "What?" He said. "Nothing." Gavin stood up straight. "Let's continue our search!" He said, smiling. He walked in front of Richard, ready to go look for their suspect. Richard noticed Gavin's LED. "You know your LED gives you away, right?" Richard pointed to the LED. Gavin looked away. "It's broken." He lied. "Oh really?" Richard said, not believing him. "Yes, it's broken. Anyway, let's go!" Gavin said, starting to walk off. Richard watched him, starting to worry for him. He sighed before putting out his cigarette and following Gavin.
