Misunderstandings

~Marinette's Pov~

Marinette crawled out of bed and onto her balcony. After a restless night, she wanted to get some fresh air. Maybe that would help her sleep. She knew it wouldn't. It was a silly idea, really. How does fresh air stop the nightmares? Stop the pain? There was one person she knew she could talk too, who she knew would understand... but she couldn't.

How would she explain to him that he caused her sleepless nights, her constant fear of getting too close? It's why she kept pushing him away. She knew it hurt both of them, but she didn't know what else to do. Unless. "Tikki, I- I have to tell him." Her throat was dry, she couldn't believe what she was thinking.

"Tell who what, Marinette?" Her small kwami friend sat beside her on the table.
"I need to tell Chat." Tikki tilted her head in confusion.

Marinette shook her head, not wanting to have to explain herself twice. "Tikki, spots on."

~Chat Noir's Pov~

By the time Chat Noir arrived to their spot, Ladybug had been there for quite some time. She was pacing. He could tell even before he reached her that something was wrong. "Hey bugaboo! Penny for your thoughts?" Chat's smile was returned by his lady, but it quickly faded from her face, and was replaced by sadness.

He felt a wave of uneasiness wash over him. "M'lady, is everything okay? I know I can be a pain with all my jokes, and I understand how it can be distracting. I'm sorry if I've annoyed you, I'll try my best to stop." He put his hand on her shoulder. "I know how important our missions have been to you since you became guardian."

Ladybug smiled at her partner. He'd do anything to make her happy. "No, kitty, it's not anything you did," she closed her eyes as memories of Chat Blanc swam through her head. "Actually, it's everything you did!" She turned away from him as tears forced their way out of her eyes. Chat stood there unsure of what to do, and what to say. What had he done to make her so upset?

"M'lady?" He reached out to touch her shoulder again, but stopped. "I'm sorry, for whatever I did. I'll make it up to you, I promise." He smiled at her, and left, not wanting to make the situation worse.

"Chat! No- wait!" Ladybugs voice faded into the distance behind him.
