𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐎𝐃 at the railings of the boat that'd take her and other volunteers to europe. she smiled as she watched steve wave at her. she sent him a thumbs up, her way of wishing him luck when it was his time to departure.
last night, after her dancing date with howard stark himself, her brother'd told her a man named dr. erskine had given him a chance. a chance on fighting in the war and eve couldn't be happier. off course she knew there was a chance that he'd die, same for herself. but steve wanted to be a part of something bigger than himself, just like she did.
they were the same in that sense, the rogers siblings.
she didn't let her eyes leave her brother until he was out of sight because for all she knew this would be the last time she saw him. a shaky breath escaped her lips as she moved away from the railing, her fingertips slipping off the cold metal. she hadn't said goodbye to bucky. she supposed things had gone good last night because he hadn't come over this morning. she was hurt that he didn't say goodbye but she couldn't blame him alone, she had been the one too stubborn to talk to him.
she cast a glance around her, there were a lot of men. some women too. she was glad she wouldn't be the only one of the female gender. very glad even, she didn't think she could survive without another woman in close radius.
her eyes were just glancing over the men still standing at the railing when she caught sight of him standing at the very front. he stood alone, looking out over the water and anger- no, rage- filled her.
where does this man get the fucking nerve?
with determinant steps, she walked towards him.
bucky barnes winced as he heard the sound of heels clacking against the metal of the deck. he knew it was just a matter of time before he'd get punched in the face. although- he doubted if she'd do that for she'd never hurt a fly in her life. no- that's not true she'd once beat up a man that touched one of her lady friends very badly but besides that she hadn't hurt a fly.
he knew that he should've told her when he got the chance and that he should've talked to her in the past days. if he was honest, he was scared to turn around to face her.
"you hypocrite." she spat as she came to a stop behind him.
he slowly turned around and winced at her furious expression, "evie-" he started only for a hand to be held in front of his face.
