It's been a long time, hasn't it? Anyways, I'm trying to write in both of the stories because I don't want to give up this one.
I went inside and brought all the attention to me. I had to be the distraction and there would be at least five people who would be hiding and shooting. Everyone started screaming and running out and I didn't stop them.
I walked further from anyone to make sure of not getting hurt in surprise. I was in the middle of a store while verifying no one was going to call the cops. Then, I saw a child running with tears alone. I ran to him quickly and hid him behind my back.
He was scared but I shushed him, telling him everything was going to be okay. "You need to be silent, ok. I won't hurt you, just hide behind me, ok?" He nodded hesitantly and then, I found one. I raised my gun.
I shot a man I saw in the distance. I approached him and found another one hidden. I shot him too. I checked their neck to both find a skull tattoo. The signature of the small inter mafia of the Americans.
Then, I heard a few shotguns not far from me. I found someone crouching to the small boy, holding a gun at his head. I approached running and saw it he part of the Russian mafia.
"What are you doing? It's a kid!" The man showed me then a tattoo. A tattoo of the inner American mafia. I gasped and saw the little boy sobbing. "Where did you get that?" I asked.
"I don't know, my mom brought me somewhere and I got it and she send me to my dad." I was pulled back up by the man. "We don't need to kill him, he could be useful. He doesn't even know what's happening!"
He was hesitant and still pressed the front of the gun to the head of the boy. I took reflexes and brought him to the ground, placing a foot on his chest, a gun to his head.
"What is going on here?" Inessa asked screaming when she came near us. "Long story. We need to bring that boy with us, he doesn't even know what's going on." She looked at the boy and then at me.
"Fine. Soldat, ubedites', chto etot mal' chik v bezopasnosti, poka my ne doberemsya do konspirativnoy kvartiry. (Soldier, make sure this boy is safe until we arrive at the safe house)."
He nodded and I backed away from him. I grabbed the little boy's hand and wiped his tears while crouching to him. "Stay calm, nothing will happen to you."
He stayed silent. I went back with Inessa to go find more of them. "How many people?" She stared at me hesitantly. "Four left." I nodded, separating from her.
I was walking somewhere when I heard a loud gunshot near me. Before I could turn, I saw the bullet had flew right next to me. I spun around, to be pinned to the ground. A woman with red hair had me at gun point.
I tried to get out her grip. She moved the gun from my forehead to my throat. I gulped and I felt the gun in my skin. I slowly grabbed the dagger in my sleeve and stabbed her in the arm. She jerked back.
I grabbed my gun but my head was hit by the side of her gun. My eyes started to give up. I could see black spots as I heard a gunshot and I felt someone speaking to me.

I woke up with two little boys around me. Matthew and Nikolai. I hugged three and they smiled. Inessa showed up and I looked at Nikolai. Something was wrong. He was too silent. I looked at Inessa.
She understood and brought Matthew with her, pretexting about food. Nikolai sat still, not looking at me. "Nikolai, eu știu că când minți, sunt mama ta(Nikolai, I know when you're lying, I'm your mother)."
He nodded. He broke and I wrapped my arms around him. "This isn't right. Promise me you'll stop getting hurt." I sigh and then he looks back at me. "Promise. For me and Nikolai."
I nodded. I couldn't promise. But he took my nod and left, as Inessa helped me up. We were going now to the compound. I took mg bags and we went to the car. The boys were there with me, Inessa and the guy I found on the mission.
"You okay buddy? These are my sons, Nikolai and Matthew. It took them a while to speak but of course, Matthew was the first to break it. The drive was long but I couldn't close my eye. Inessa was already snoring on my shoulder and it was hilarious.
The boys were too and I just watched the window. The night sky was brighter tonight and I wondered how Alexei was. Then, I tried to take my phone to try and call him. I dialled his number but before calling, I declined.
What if he was busy?
I chickened out and put back my phone.
He would call me when he could.
If he could...

We finally arrived and I woke up Inessa. She took the boy in her arms and I took the two other sleepy ones inside. We found the children room and put them both on the same bunk bed, Matthew on top since he loved it there and Nikolai loved the bottom.
Then, when Inessa tucked in the boy I sat down and asked him. "What's your name?" He blinked. "I don't know. My mother always called me by a nickname and my father called me by a number."
I nodded, pitying him. It sounded horrible. At least my parents named me. "How does Xavier sound?" He nodded with a smile. "I love it!" I chuckled and said goodnight as I went with Inessa to the middle room.
When we left the room, only one kid was missing. I spotted her with what seemed to be her parents and she looked so tired. I tugged on Inessa. "Why is she here?" Inessa sighed.
"Some parents just care about the future and not about the health. First strength and then health. I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. I couldn't bear hear something like that.
I just stayed silent and then a group of people came in the middle of the crowded room. "Welcome everyone. This is the next place for protection. I will now announce all the roles."
He looked in the room for someone and stopped when he spotted us. "The council will be occupied by me, Ivan, Andreea Ivanov and Inessa Petrov." I wondered why he didn't say Ivan's last name.
He kept on going until I heard my name in missions. I turned to Inessa. "You did this?" She grinned. "Alexei would probably kill me but who cares when you'll be without him."
"Did he talk to you recently?" She turned to me.
"Yea, today, he asked me firstly about you, how you were doing, and was extremely mad that I let you come on the mission." I chuckled. "How's he?"
She grinned. "Fine, should be out in about three to four weeks." I nodded. That was a lot. I would obviously not admit it but I thought it.
"Let's go, we have to go sleep, or else, tomorrow you'll be regretting it."
