Chapter 35

Day 6

<<Speaking English>>

"Your... wife?" asked Mei with the same stunned expression.

"You didn't tell me you were married!" said Yuzu excitedly as she continued to smile.

"She didn't?" asked Mayumi with a subtle surprised look before turning to April with a blank frown. <<What, you keeping me all to yourself now?>>

<<No no no no no... I just... kinda forgot, that's all... ha ha ha>> said April with a embarrassed smile while waving her hand.

Mayumi began to smile as she continued to frown at April. <<Yuh huh... You're lucky that you're cute when you're embarrassed>> she said as she moved closer to Yuzu and Mei.

"My name is Hirano Mayumi" she said as she bowed. "It's great to finally meet you both."

Both young ladies each bowed to the lovely Japanese woman in front of them. Mei was still stunned at her appearance, while Yuzu was amazed by her.

"But you can just call me Mayumi, it's so much easier here" she said as she stood up. "April told me so much about the both of you.

"So you must be Yuzu" she said as she pointed to the young blonde lady.

"That's right, I am" said Yuzu happily. "It's great to meet you too."

"Then that would make you Mei" said Mayumi as she looked at the young woman. "You have the most beautiful eyes" she said with a smile.

Mei felt herself blush as she slightly looked away, while Yuzu looked at her sister, amused that she could still be embarrassed by a compliment.

"Th... thank you" said Mei softly with an awkward grin.

"April tells me that you had a crazy week" said Mayumi, "but I'm glad it all worked out."

"Well... it was touch and go there,  but yeah, it's all good now" said Yuzu. "So did you have to wait for us long?"

"No, not long at all" said April. "In fact, this is the best time to come out. A lot of the entertainment is slowly setting up. You'll love it here."

"So where should we go first?" asked Mayumi.

"Well, if you're hungry, there's a great hot dog place down the street. I think they'll like it" said April.

"That sounds great" said Yuzu, excited to try any new food. "What do you think Mei?"

Mei was slightly confused by the suggestion, never having tried that type of food before. "Well, I suppose..."

"She'll be fine" said Yuzu as she wrapped her arms around Mei, which had Mei somewhat startled. "Let's do it!"

All four ladies began walking down one of the busy streets of Santa Monica. Mei and Yuzu were amazed that roads were blocked off from cars so people could walk around freely.

So much activities were happening around them, from music acts, some outdoor dancing, a street magician, a mime, and people circling around them in every direction enjoying themselves with all there was to see.

April was pointing everything out to Yuzu and Mei as they moved along, while Mayumi was describing what each shop or restaurant was. Everywhere they turned was something new and exciting, unlike what they were use to back home.
