Chapter 9

<<Speaking English>>

April lead the way to the reception hall as Mei and Yuzu followed. Once inside, Yuzu couldn't help but be surprised by everything she saw.

The hall was beautifully decorated with a warm glow. Lighting brought everything to life as the plant life of every color was nicely spread throughout the hall. Nearby tables were filled with appetizers for everyone to enjoy, while waiters moved around with Champagne or water to serve. And a beautiful stairway that lead to a second level where there was a lovely balcony with a view of the city.

As Yuzu was looking everywhere, she noticed that Mei was very focused, much like she was while at the academy. She was surveying the room to take notice of the important representatives she'll have to meet with.

"I'd like to take a moment to introduce you to our CEO, Mr. Fredrick" said April. "He heard you were here and is looking forward to meeting you."

"Of course, thank you" said Mei as she and Yuzu followed April.

Yuzu couldn't believe how calm Mei was. Deep down, she herself felt like she might be out of place. She took a deep breath, hoping that she could be as strong as Mei looked.

'All these people everywhere in this place and she's not even sweating' she thought. 'And now we're about to meet the big boss. How does she do it?'

Mr. Fredrick was laughing alongside others with a glass of wine in his hands, looking like he was enjoy the evening so far.

<<Excuse me Mr. Fredrick>> said April, <<do you have a moment?>>

<<Of course Miss Cross>> he replied as he turned away from his company and saw two beautiful young Asian women standing beside April.

He was taken aback by the beauty of the purple eyed young lady in front of him. With a pleasant grin, he turned to greet her.

<<May I introduce Miss Mei Aihara, our representative of the Aihara Corporation of Japan>> said April. <<Miss Aihara, this is Ruben Fredrick, our CEO.>>

<<It's a pleasure to meet you sir>> said Mei as she bowed.

<<And it's my pleasure to meet you Miss Aihara>> said Mr. Fredrick as he extended his hand to shake Mei's after she rose up.

<<You'll have to forgive me, but if I attempt to bow, in my shape, I won't remember how to stand up straight again>> he said as he chuckled, which had everyone around him laugh, including April and Yuzu. Mei gave a soft grin and giggle, showing she was amused as she shook his hand.

<<That's quite alright sir>> says Mei with a grin.

<<And who might this lovely lady be beside you?>> he asked.

Yuzu became very nervous as the attention was suddenly aimed at her.

<<This is my assistant, Miss Yuzu>> said Mei as she motioned to her.

Yuzu wanted to be impressive, but didn't prepare herself to be introduced to anyone. She had to say something, Mei was counting on her.

<<Kon'nichiwa Fredrick-san. It's a pleasure to meet you>> she said as she bowed slightly.

'Wow! I impressed myself' she thought. She was afraid she might say something weird that could embarrass Mei.

<<The pleasure is mine Miss Yuzu>> said Mr. Fredrick. <<Thank you, thank you both for making the trip all the way here. It's quite a distance.>>
