As the next week passes the Games come to an end and I retreat back to my Capitol home, wanting nothing more but to drink in solitude and lounge around in my pajamas while watching my favorite shows. Haymitch has sent me several texts throughout each long day asking if I "needed any company" with a little winking face. I don't understand him, there are several clubs in the Capitol to...satisfy his needs along with the many Capitol Jewels.

I sit down on my plush powder blue couch just as I lurch forward, a disgusting feeling rising from the pit of my stomach. I quickly scamper to my powder room and regurgitate my breakfast from just a few hours ago. It must've been something I ate... As I sit back with a shaky breath I notice a new symptom of mine, a new treat from Mother Nature herself, a sore chest. Maybe it's just from wearing my corset so often... For God's sake, when will being of the female gender stop sucking so horribly? And on top of all of this, my back pains are nearly unbearable. My mother warned me about this when I was young but had never experienced what it was truly like until now.

Haymitch texts me yet again, but this time he makes sure I'm aware that he's waiting at my front door. I groan and slowly stand, applying pressure to my stomach with my hand as I make my way to my front door.

"Mr. Abernathy, how in the world did you find my home? I did not give you permission to come here, I hope you know." I call out before opening the door.

"Well you're acknowledging me now, Sweetheart, that's a start." He smirks, leaning against the doorway.

"Haymitch, what on Earth are you talking about?"

"You were ignoring me, Princess. I was kidding about keeping you company, I was just checking on you because you didn't seem all that well when you left last week."

Oh, he cares, boo hoo. He's trying to get in your head, Effie. Don't play his silly little game, but be polite. "Well... thank you, Mr. Abernathy. I appreciate you caring for my wellbeing but I'm really rather busy and can't invite you to come in, I'm very sorry..."

"Don't worry about it, Princess. I'll see you in a few weeks for the sign offs." He kisses my cheek before I can protest. "See ya 'round." He turns with a smirk and walks back the way he came.

I close my door and hold my hand to my cheek. "What a ridiculous man..."

I shake my head and sit down on my couch, pulling my laptop into my lap. Home remedies to ease vomiting and back pains. I sigh quietly as I scroll through all the links to various websites.

"These symptoms and many more may be caused from lack of sleep, menstrual cycle hormonal changes, blah blah blah, and-" I raise a brow. "Pregnancy... here's the simple remedy..." I look down at my stomach before quickly shutting my laptop and bolting towards the door.

I slam my hand against the door and wait as the little voice in my head shrieks at me. No, no, no! Don't go out there! First of all, you're in your sweats. Second, you can't possibly be pregnant you just had your - no, you didn't. Okay, but you can't possibly be, you didn't sleep with him! Well - we don't know that... Just go.

I quietly thank my little voice before bolting down the sidewalk after Haymitch. "Haymitch! Haymitch, wait!"

He stops his slow, wandering pace and turns to me with a bemused expression. "Finally giving in, Princess?" He jokes with a now very smug look.

"I think I'm pregnant..."
