Chapter 4: Signs

Once again school has begun and it seems like Rin didn't made an alarm for me to wake up, but that was weird. I yawned and sat on my bed, looked at the time, it was six o'clock in the morning and Rin wasn't waking up, so I stood up and took a bath, after that I wore my uniform and walked out of my room to go down stairs, there I saw mother was about to leave, "mother, have you cooked?", I asked. "Yes, my dear. I'm going to leave right now for work, take care of your little sister, okay?", she said with a worry tone but I nodded. "Yes, mother", and then she left the house leaving it quiet. I checked the dining room and it was all served again, Rin wasn't waking up, so it was my turn to alarm her. I walked upstairs and knocked on her door, "Rin, wake up, it's time for school", she didn't answer also the door seemed to open. I pushed the door open, revealing Rin was laying down on the floor, my eyes went wide when I saw her figure there, she was wearing her orange pajamas though, I approached to her and checked if she wasn't sick, but it seems like her temperature was hot. "Brother.." she whispered and saw her eyes slowly open, "where's mother?", she asked with her tone seem weak and faint.

"She's at work, Rin. Can you still attend the class? Your temperature seem high since you're hot", I said worried and concern. She gave me a weak smile saying, "of course I can, sorry for seeing me like this. I think I forgot to lay on my bed", she said and sat up, still with her smile. "Don't make me worry like that okay? I'll leave you to fix yourself", I told and helped her to stood up but she was forcing me to stay her like that, "N-no, brother. I can do this, I'm not that kind of baby anymore", she said with a giggle, making me smile unconscious, I chuckled and said, "all right, I'll leave you then. I just miss carrying you when you were little", she pouted when I said that, "I'm not a baby anymore", I laughed silently which making her blushed, "so cute, yeah okay, all right, just fix yourself". I said and walked out of the room.

It took her ten minutes to finished and finally I heard a footsteps, "I'll get my orange!", she said cheerfully and walked to the kitchen, approaching to where the oranges and bananas were, she took one orange and banana as she walked out to held my favorite fruit to me,"and here's your banana~!".

"Thanks, Rin", I said with a chuckle. She giggled and hold my hands, "let's go~!". Then we both went out as we headed to the school. When we arrived, our hands were apart as she waved at me, "see you later!", she yelled when she was far away from me. I smiled and stared at her direction, suddenly frowned as I walked to my class, I wasn't feeling right for Rin. Her atmosphere was weird, she even smiled weakly by the time when I was in her room.

By the time when our teacher discussed, someone knocked the door from the entrance as the teacher paused, she quickly walked towards to the door and opened it, revealing Miku. Wait, what was she doing here?

"What do you need, Ms. Hatsune?", the teacher asked. Miku's eyes was focused on mine. I could read something that wasn't right, "I need Mr. Kagamine to see his little sister, it's important to him", she said and I stood up, making people around me here, taking a glance at me. "You may", she said and I walked towards the door and Miku grabbed my wrist, "what happened?", I asked. "Rin, she has a high fever, Len", she said with a worried look, now I was worried about my sister. We approached to where my sister was, and soon when we arrived at the clinic, the nurse lead us the way where my sister was laying.

There she was, sleeping peacefully with a wet towel on top of her forehead. I sighed deeply and sat down, holding her hands as I frowned, "why did you let her?", Miku asked as she sat at the other side. "I thought she can do it..", I whispered and Miku sighed deeply, "I hope she's all right", she whispered and looked at her sadly.

"Brother", she called me and I opened my eyes to see her wake. She looked at me and smiled a bit, "s-sorry for making you worry", she continued and glanced at the blanket that was covered her figure. "No, it's okay, Rin", I said softly as I stood up, embracing her and tightened it, I was really worried about her, "no need to apologize, I should be the one since I let you attend the class".
