Fire Drowning

By MrsGalt

I am broken, but I am reborn in the ashes

Borne out of your phoenix robes

Your fire that consumes my being

Is the same fire that molded my soul

The crackles I hear in the bonfire of eternal yearning,

Is the sound of myself roaring for you to listen to me----

drowned, indistinguishable, overlooked.

The heat from my fingertips,

is the residual warmth from the edges of your clothes,

As I begged for you to stay

The dance of the yellow, red, orange and blue tongues of fire,

Are the neon lights flashing in my eyes

Blinding me, and hindering me

To see the last pieces of your shadows

As your fire burns out...

 I am inflamed,

yet I am cold in the numbness you have forced upon me

Love, I am eternally exiled into the pits of despair

Since the time your soul has been extinguished from my life.
