Yet... Unrequited

Yet...Unrequited

By Mrs_Galt

No one has ever seen me like this

In a state of frenzy, of fear

Kindly tell me why I am afraid

Over something that I know will never be

Least of all, something that exists only in my dreams

Amidst the ocean of doubts, I struggle

I am worn out, I am spent, but I still drag my feet over the sticking pebble in my shoe.

You, however, smile with no worries for tomorrow, nor regrets from yesterday past.

On the rooftop with the sunshine as your backdrop...

Hugging your body as if the glow was intrinsically yours,

And I'd never doubt even for a moment the spells you have casted on me

Never ending, never stopping, truly eternal.

None of which will ever be
reciprocated,

For my love is forever true...

Yet, unrequited.
