"Is Felix okay?"

No one answered, and Hyunjin could feel his frustration growing by the second. He didn't know anything- no one was telling him anything, no matter how many times he asked. It was like they didn't want to tell him anything.

Hyunjin's jaw clenched tightly, so tightly he would have been scared his teeth would crack under the pressure. But, in that moment, he was too frustrated to even get himself to want to care. No, rather, he just couldn't care.

"Would you just fucking tell me if he's ok-"

Eric dropped a heavy hand on his shoulder, drawing him straight back to the ground. He froze beneath his hand, stepping back reluctantly as he glared at the doctor.

Under his fiery gaze, the doctor stepped back, her gaze wavering slightly. "I don't know anything. All I know is that we're doing our best-"

"Then at least tell me what the fuck is wrong!"

"Hyunjin," Eric pleaded, tugging his shoulder back slightly so that his hip rotated, only to bounce back to his prior position, "if she doesn't know the answer, she doesn't know the answer. You can't force a false answer out of someone. You know this."

He jerked his shoulder back out of Eric's hold, sealing his jaw closed tightly as he turned his shoulder to the doctor. For a second, Hyunjin just stared out into the empty hallway from the room he was in, his eyebrows furrowed together tightly.

"...I'm sorry."

Hyunjin ignored her, keeping himself zoned into the hallway as he sucked in a deep breath.

All he wanted to know was whether or not Felix was okay.

After they had been knocked down because of the blast, there was nothing other than a blur of a memory. Hyunjin only remembered uncurling himself from the protective ball to ensure Kkami was okay, and the way his hand had felt sticky and warm after he had opened it and let go of Felix's wrist.

The ambulance ride, being rushed into the hospital- the only clear picture Hyunjin had before that point was when they were saying something about needing to stitch someone up. Stitch Felix up.

And now Hyunjin wasn't getting answers. No one, not even the doctor that he had asked, was giving him any answers. None that he wanted.

He swallowed thickly, shifting himself on the examination table uncomfortably as Eric jumped up beside him.

Eric had gotten the brunt of the blast, at least the physical brunt. Most of his wounds were minor, nothing more than scrapes and bruises on the surface. The worst wound he had was a piece of glass in his elbow. He fought that he was okay, though. He wasnt hurt anywhere else. He didn't need any X-Ray or an MRI or a CAT scan. He was fine.

Hyunjin wanted to cry. He didn't know what was going on with Felix. All he wanted to know was what was going on.

"Felix is strong, Sam," Eric started, his voice soft and hidden in his throat as he picked at his finger nails. "You already know all that he's been through. He's going to pull through."

While Hyunjin knew that, the only thing he could think was that Felix was hurt. And had he not come any faster, Felix wouldn't have been Felix anymore.

Hyunjin didn't answer. Instead, he opted to sit in silence- hands locked on the floor as he watched the tips of his shoes bounce in and out of sight.

This went on for what felt like hours. Watching his feet bounce in and out of sight, listening to Eric's soft words of assurance- listening to the doctors running back and forth in the hallway.

After a while, Eric had stepped out of the room- leaving Hyunjin to sit there in his own silence.

He didn't know how long he was stuck there on his own, nor when the tears started falling. But the second the door opened again, and Eric stepped in again, this time wearing one of the doctor's coats.

"What are you wear-" Hyunjin stopped speaking the second Eric's old MP3 player began to play music.

He wiped at his face lightly, brushing the tears onto his pants before he let out a breath.

"This'll be the day that I die," Eric sang, the baritone note he forced out scratchy and broken. Hyunjin couldn't help but laugh at that. The music seemed to paus for a moment as Eric extended a hand with a random spoon on it, his eyebrows raised slightly.

Hyunjin pressed his lips together. "This will be the day that I die," he said softly, Eric's lips twitching up slightly as he continued on with his little show.

He knew what Eric was trying to do. It was something he did a lot- that he had done since they had met. And Hyunjin appreciated it.

Inhaling deeply, Hyunjin leaned forward slightly and gazed out the window of the hospital rooms door. No matter how loud the music sounded, Hyunjin couldnt stop the thoughts of Felix flooding through his mind.

Eric stumbled as soon as the door opened, tucking the spoon behind his back and slamming the pause button of the MP3 player so loudly the click was heard even by Hyunjin.

"Felix is asking for you. Both of you," the doctor said softly, swallowing as she glared at Eric- presumably for wearing the doctors coat -before backing out.

He didn't waste any time throwing himself off the exam table before tossing the door open, darting after the doctor who had already walked half way through the hallway.

Hyunjin stumbled into the hospital room, tripping over the door as he stepped inside to immediately rush to the side of the bed.

He tried to speak, but even when he opened his mouth no words came out. Instead, when Felix pulled himself out of the bed and stumbled into his arms, all he could do was hold him.

And hold him he did.

"I was so scared," Hyunjin muttered into Felix's hair, tightening his hold on him, despite the bruises of his own aching.

In his arms, Felix squirmed, but didn't say anything.

After a minute, Hyunjin pulled himself away and immediately reached down to grab Felix's elbows so that he could look at his arms.

The bandages wrapped around his wrists caused his heart to drop into his stomach, and his gaze immediately lifted towards Felix's. In that moment, all he could do was pray to God-

"It was Lee Minho."

Hyunjin's heart jumped, this time in anger as he lifted his chin slightly. "Lee Minho?" The tremor in his voice was heavy.

Almost as though he was scared to be admitting it, Felix nodded his head softly.

"Eric."

Hyunjin turned to look back at Eric for a moment, watching as he stepped firward almost tentatively to stand in front of Felix.

"I want you to watch Kkami."

There was a silent agreement in the air, but no one made any moves to do or say anything against or for that.

"Have you already talked with Momo?" Hyunjin asked, turning his gaze back to Felix just in time to watch him nod his head softly. He swallowed. "All of it?"

Again, Felix nodded his head. "...She doesn't want you on the case anymore. Spoke to Rivera too. Said you shouldn't do anything anymore. Because you're a target."

Hyunjin turned his head to look at the hospital room door.

Momo stood there with a soft, sad smile on her lips- Rivera towering over her from behind with the same somber expression.

Great.

Just great.

Momo then opened her mouth. "We're sending you somewhere else. At least until the case is closed. You're valuable," she paused, "but you're a danger. We have everything set up for the both of you. We'll talk once Felix is discharged."

A moment passed, and eventually, Hyunjin exhaled in some form of defeat, dropping his head down slightly.
