Imagine you've been given a pen. You want to see if it writes and your first instinct is to write your name. Leave a trail behind you. Maybe it's because your name is the closest thing to your heart, maybe it's because you don't want to be forgotten.

Why do people love art?
Genereux Philip once said "If an Artist falls in love with you, you will live forever." They can write about you, compose a song about you, or paint you. In this case, you will not be forgotten. Someone is looking for a deeper meaning in the painting and someone sees only a colourful canvas full of chaos. Someone is looking for answers in them, someone is looking for questions in them. Vincent van Gogh cut off his left ear and his art didn't make his life any easier. But he will not be forgotten. People can find solace in music. They attend operas and play the piano. They have headphones in their ears or write songs as a form of therapy. It can be the only thing that keeps us alive or it can be the thing that destroys us. Tchaikovsky, for example. He composed timeless musical masterpieces while suffering from lifelong depression. Evidence suggests that he took his own life at age 53. He will live forever and not be forgotten for what he accomplished. But at what cost? I think people love art because everyone can interpret it in their own way. Everyone sees their story in the words and hears their hardships in the songs. Everyone sees their reflection in art and their problems, triumphs, struggles or pain in dance. They love art because when they see themselves in it they are sure that they will not be forgotten.
